<< OPPOSITION CRUSHED ~ MAIN ~ NICE TRY >>
SAD MAX
Maxine McKew was meant to speak to residents at the Vimiera Village in Eastwood on Thursday, but the oldtimers had better things to do:

(Via Piers)
Why support someone specially chosen by a PM aspirant whose promises are scheduled for a time you may not be around to redeem them?

You won’t have to sit with the old folks
No scones for you dear,
They can see you’re just a bloody silly jokeMaxine
You don’t have to wear that frock today
Choke down tea for Kevvie
Like you care, better stick with the lattesMaxine
You don’t have to carry the tea trayThey can see right through you
Won’t be talked down to by you
No place for you on Parliament Hill
They won’t switch sides for a media Hogg
You know their minds are made up
So put away your make up
Told you once I won’t tell you again
You’re a lightweightMaxine
You don’t have to carry the tea tray

You don’t have to carry the tea trayPosted by eeniemeenie on 2007 11 09 at 09:23 PM • permalinkAll through this campaign I’ve been struck by the genuine warmth of the large numbers of people meeting the PM on those shopping centre-type deals. It just flies in the face of what the polls are saying.
OTOH, Rudd’s screaming, brainless schoolgirls are so obviously “acting” on cue. Who do they think they’re fooling - apart from Rudd? And the MSM luvvies.
#17 Kruddy visited our local shopping centre Thursday before last.
He was whisked to the Muffin Break where he took a sip of coffee for the cameras while his security ensured no plebs got anywhere near the Dear Leader,( can’t risk any locals thanking him for the level 5 water restrictions he’s given us).
Then he whisked back out again (whole thing took less than five minutes)
At the Muffin Break they’ve got this coffee bean election predictor contraption consisting of clear plastic tubes labelled LIB and ALP etc,in which customers can place a coffee bean if they can be bothered.
The helpful young things behind the counter were pre- alerted to the impending visit of the Dear Leader and managed to near empty the liberal tube and fill the ALP one to the top just in time for the photo-op.
I go to Gloria Jeans for my flat whites now.

Mrs. McHogg driving a fire engine?Gee I’m impressed.
That cartoonist Warren will loan his vintage Dennis to anyone.
The Tele also tells us to stand by for Monday’s in-depth report on Bennelong - a report so shocking, so terrifying….
My God how many sleeps before Monday?
(My guess it will tell us Mrs McHogg only has to show up on polling day to win….wink, wink…)Last night 7 network news was up to their old ABC tricks.
Item 1:
Rudd receiving rock star reception in Adelaide - screaming schoolgirls, the works…Gee I’m impressed.Item 2:
Howard gazing upon the prostrate body of a woman at Penrith Plaza who fell over during his walk-about. That nasty Howard man. Did he push her over? Nasty. Nasty Howard. What 7 left unsaid of course, was the woman was caught up in a similar rock star throng for Howard and simply fell down in the scrum. Howard was getting what Rudd got - but it of course, went unreported. Gee I’m unimpressed.
We need a Royal Commission into media bias in this fucking country!
#22 - KK, I too am sick of “working families”. I want to hear what the parties have to say about bludging families. That’s much more important to me.

I agree whole-heartedly- Our media seem to think their job is to piss in the well springs of democracy. They seem to be colluding with Labor to pervert the process.
That hollow fraud Krudd wouldn’t have a hope in hell in a free and fair election with an informed electorate. Not against a government with a record as good as this ones is and led by a man who is easily the most substantial leader this country has seen in decades.
I hate to sound like a left-whinger but I sometimes wonder if this isn’t the end of the line for Australian democracy.

#28 and #30.
An investigation into the media is definitely called for.
Many of us are reluctant participants in an “election by media” this very moment. It’s extremely frustrating, because there’s not much you can do about it although later you may get the satisfaction of being able to say “I told you so”.
The Sydney Morning Herald won’t report anything or publish letters that it doesn’t see as assisting Kevin07 to victory.
In fact, there should be some way of suing the media for spreading mis- and disinformation.
This a a greatly funny thread.

I hope they can make the sequel, Sad Max 2: The Poll Worrier.
Bloody hilarious.
If the Liberals were smart, they would use that bulletin board note in their campaign flyers.

Media bias? What media bias?
From wikipedia
Maxine McKew (born 1953) is an Australian Labor parliamentary candidate and former award-winning journalist. As a broadcaster, McKew hosted a number of programmes on Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) television and radio, most recently Lateline and The 7.30 Report. In February 2007, McKew announced her candidacy for the seat of Bennelong, the federal parliamentary seat in Sydney held by the Prime Minister John Howard.
It amazes me how many news media people change their career and run for election representing the ALP. You hardly hear of any running for the Liberal Party.
