ROVE-GALLOWAY CONNECTION REVEALED
Leftoid Greg Palast admits: “I was suckered by Galloway.” But who does he blame? Why, scheming Republicans, of course:
Where did this guy come from? Who invited him here? The answer: US Senate REPUBLICANS. As Cindy Sheehan was gathering public sympathy as the Gold Star mom against the killing in Iraq, the Republican party decided to import an easier target to pummel. So they brought over the “I-salute-your-courage, Saddam” religious fundamentalist crack-pot who can’t tell us where the money went.
That’s why the Republicans chose him for us. This gross cartoon from abroad whose “charity” is stuffed with loot from an Oil-for-Food profiteer is the image they prefer on TV to Cindy Sheehan whom they dare not confront ...
I’m sorry, but I’m not going to let Karl Rove or some sick GOP Senator pick my heroes for me.
You’ll do as you’re told, Palast.
From Greg Palast’s column:
We need to repudiate this guy {Galloway)—before the warmongers do, with glee.
He’s too late. Way, way, way, WAY too late. People smarter than him saw through this bozo back in 1994. Palast—and his “progressive” friends—simply didn’t care. He said what they wanted to hear. If he suddenly has a bad taste in his mouth, well, he shouldn’t fellate the likes of Galloway.
Well, Mr. Galloway, you may live by your beliefs—anti-choice, fatwas, Saddam’s “courage”—but too many are DYING by your beliefs.
A noble statement, but a day late, and a dollar short. Having heard lots of talk from his part of the political spectrum, I’d like to see some action.
Such as…..? Well, now that I think of it, how about Greg and his “progressive” friends stop enabling Mommy Cindy? That would be a nice start. Cancel that anti-war rally on 24 September. Instead, raise money for wounded and orphaned children in Iraq. Doing something for the children. Wouldn’t that be different!
Oh, and stop blaming the Republicans for your problems, Greg. Grow up. Accept responsibility for your mistakes. That would be different, as well.

If the debate on the Left is whether to support George “I salute [Saddam’s] courage” Galloway, or Cindy “pull our troops out of occupied New Orleans” Shehan, they don’t need Rove to discredit them. They’re doing a nice job on their own.
Posted by Bruce Rheinstein on 2005 09 18 at 07:44 AM • permalinkIn case anybody forgot Greg Palast was the piece of
shitwork that wrote “Well, my friends, you can rest easier tonight: the Rat is dead. Killer, coward, conman. Ronald Reagan, good-bye and good riddance.”Posted by Hank Reardon on 2005 09 18 at 07:46 AM • permalinkMaybe this Palast idiot should listen to what HITCHENS said about the vile, foul and depraved pro-fascist galloway.
Hitchens is an old-fashioned, rational leftist. I might not like his leftism, but I repect the man and will listen very carefully to his arguments. He wiped the floor with galloway in that debate, but the fundamental vacuity of the modern left was revealed by the sheer numbers of leftists in the audience who supported saddams special little suckhole-buddy - who is fawning over baby Assad these days.
Hitchens absolutely slammed the modern left in that debate, too, and deservedly so.

canberraI’m sorry, but I’m not going to let Karl Rove or some sick GOP Senator pick my heroes for me.
Lord Rove picked Greg’s heroes for him while he was still in his formative years. It was all charted out. Sure, drop off Galloway if you wish, but many other leftist heroes are there to take his place.
Ironically, Margo wasn’t one of Rove’s projects. Just a nice little surprise. Don’t be surprised if Rove anonymously funds her start up web site. He likes it a lot.
Posted by wronwright on 2005 09 18 at 08:16 AM • permalinkI’d forgotten that Palast dissed Reagan. I shouldn’t be surprised, he’d fellate Mommy Cindy as enthusiastically as he did Galloway, if only she had different plumbing.
Posted by The_Real_JeffS on 2005 09 18 at 08:28 AM • permalinkRe #3: Too true, KK. No doubt, Galloway’s birth was the inspiration for this movie.
Posted by The_Real_JeffS on 2005 09 18 at 08:31 AM • permalinkWow. I didn’t think it was possible, but Palast did it. He wrote a headline that was unfair to George Galloway:
GALLOWAY: DEADLY ANTI-ABORTION THREATS FROM REPUBLICAN’S FAVORITE “LEFTIST”
Since when? Palast didn’t even bother to
make upfind a quote to support that.Speaking of Palast, towards the end of last year, BBC4 (or was it BBC3? Anyway, it was an unwatched and unwatchable BBC digital channel that shows up the absurdity of the “licence fee” (read: TV tax)) showed a Palast documentary, and described him in the TV listings as “investigative journalist Greg Palast”. That’s all. He’s just an “investigative journalist”. Nothing else.
Is it just me, or do so many on the left behave like Mark (I hate everyone who is not as smart as I think I am) Latham? When they make a mistake they always find a bizarre conspiracy that involves their enemies. They never accept any responsibility themselves. And they still think they know what’s really going on and that they are smarter than ‘us’. How can they be smarter than ‘us’ and really know what’s going on when they miss all these really obvious conspiracies to bring them down? I think they are just plain dumb, arrogant and therefore easily convinced by anyone who mouths the right words. Just like Mike Moore, Cindy Sheehan and David Duke…well secretly they agree with the David Duke / KKK platform on Iraq.
Posted by platey mates on 2005 09 18 at 09:51 AM • permalinkYou know, the first time I saw Palast make a joke about Galloway being a Rove plant, I thought it was a joke, at the expense of the standard mindset.
He seems to have liked the way the tinfoil hat felt when he put it on, though.
Funny that the people who think it’s shocking Rumsfeld shook hands with Saddam 25 years ago have no problem with someone who did so 4 years ago, isn’t it?
As a scheming { I gotta go look that up } Republican- I’m pretty excited about watching Rove do some of his wunderkind handywork in Bavaria…
This site is suppose to cover it starting at 4:00 p.m. UTC {Is that in half an hour?}

Suffered through a miserable, dreary Canterbury tale on abc this night as it was a sad story about a Nigerian woman washed up on a beach in U.K. who was therefore an illegal immigrant.Being on abc of course the illegal immigrant turns out to be befriended by a black british woman(so far so good) but there her good fortune in U.K. ends.
She gets involved in a rather nutty church group,a nutter from the church group attempts to rape her, he murders her friend and blames her,she is arrested and on trial for her life. Rescued by her kind and astute female Indian British lawyer, she marries her dream Brit man and must return to Nigeria temporarily. She is robbed, loses her passport, rings Brit racist bitchy, upper class mum in law -who denies the relationship and mentions she is a murder suspect.Husband goes looking for her in Nigeria where she tells him her father,a moslem was killed by a christian mob. etc etc.Wouldn’t have been put together by the beeb would it??? Their perfect combination of non white innocent from shocking country of injustices escapes to fair Britain where said subject is accosted by a mad fundamentalist christian (as you would),is accused of a murder she did not commit,a man attempts to rape her,her brave non white legal aid lawyer rescues her.She marries knight in shining armour and is abandoned by racist rich brit mother in law and beaten up in nigeria before silly hubby finally locates her after a tip off.
Wouldn’t that be a scenario that with the beeb’s seal of approval.I wanted to link directly to the results page but for some reason it wouldn’t do it-you have to click on the tab in the upper left corner for the 2005 results.
Also just noticed now that they are linking to the AFP…

Well still somehow it is the Fwanch…and they would be late…
Dang it I am trying to find a better Rove approved watch site…
The AFP. Jeebus can’t the Germans link to someone more efficient?

Galloway was invited to testify before the Senate several months before Cindy Sheehan began her protest in Crawford. In addition to being able to control the weather, I guess Rove can see the future, too.
Question: if Rove wasn’t a Joooooo, would anyone on the left be even a tenth as scared of the man?
Some well meaning progressives have said…exposing Galloway plays into the hands of the other side.
As he himself admits, this is not a game with sides, this is a World War. He and his “well meaning progressives” (read, islamo-fascists)are on the other side of the U.S., England, Poland and 30 other democracies fighting the beheaders, the enslavers of women and girls, the murderers of innocents. They are on the side of the vile slime that would choke the voices that shout over the world for liberty, for life. Palast and his well meaning progressives use their voices in a liberal and humanistic society to spread sedition and to engage in treason in wartime.I wanted to link directly to the results page but for some reason it wouldn’t do it-you have to click on the tab in the upper left corner for the 2005 results.
That’s likely because, as you note, there are no results or even predictions yet. German media are barred from publishing predicted election results on election day before the polling stations have closed (which will be in 40 minutes from now).
initial prognoses…
ARD (channel 1 of our public broadcasters):
Social Democrats 34.0%
Greens 5.5%
Christian Democrats 35.5%
Free Democrats 10.5%
Left Party 7.5%seats: conservatives 221+65=286, current government 212+53=265, leftists 47
ZDF (channel 2):
SPD 33.0%
Greens 8.0%
CDU 37.0%
FDP 10.5%
Left 8.0%seats: conservatives 229+65=294, government 204+50=254, leftists 50
Doesn’t look like it’ll be enough to get the Social Democrats out, but the current government’s dead.
WRONWRIGHT!
Our Dark Master is very interested to know why Bavaria and Westphalia cast 62,790 votes for “Don Brash” and the “National Party”...
Very, very interested…

Damian, I believe Rove is an Episcopalian of Norwegian extraction.
Posted by Bruce Rheinstein on 2005 09 18 at 12:28 PM • permalinkThe Republicans were going to bring over Assad, but figured Galloway was a far better specimen of flaming jihadism.
Insiders have informed me that Rove is a secret practioner of the ancient Aztec religion, and that he cuts the heart out of a liberal once a month, eats it raw, and then washes the whole thing down with a glass of agua caliente. The breakfast of champions!
Is there anyplace to talk back to Palast directly, or is he hiding behind a column somewhere?

Well, I don’t know. Heck, I thought that was the name of the polka band signed up for the inauguration.
Posted by wronwright on 2005 09 18 at 04:16 PM • permalinkFWIW, I just sent this to Palast:
“OOPS! DID I SAY THAT OUT LOUD?
Sorry, Greg, but George Galloway says nothing about this country that you can’t find every single day on the websites of major Democratic operatives and even leaders like Markos Moulitsas and Howard Dean. He just committed the inexcusable social gaffe of saying it somewhere people take notes.
Repudiate George Galloway? He’s the left’s poster child. He should be on a stamp.
And just for the record, the Senate invited him to speak months before “Mother Sheehan” was packaged for her fifteen minutes…”

Posted by Bruce Rheinstein on 2005 09 19 at 06:57 AM • permalinkPlease do not tell me you just denigrated lutefisk? Do you have any idea of the kind of danger you’ve put us all in?
Not only is he Norwegian, but he’s not too crazy about the Swedes—especially a certain Hans Blix. According to Bob Woodward, “As the highest ranking Norwegian-American in the White House—and perhaps the only one—Rove was convinced of the historical duplicity of the Swedes…”

What is it with these clowns? If you called them by name, would they even admit to it?
Just say you were wrong. It’s not hard (allegedly), and eventually, you should learn from your mistakes.
