REVERSE PREDICTION ATTEMPTED

Having realised that every anti-Bush, anti-Republican prediction he makes fails to come true, Michael Moore switches tactics:

The Democrats are going to have a very hard time winning the next election - the Republicans have a number of star players and the Democrats have a lot of wimps and losers.

That’s from a webchat with Mike’s fans, one of whom wants to know if Moore is Washington-bound:

matt: hey micheal. Have you ever thought of running for President?

Michael Moore: No - there’s a weight limit at the White House ;)

Bastard is stealing my material.

  1. Ahhh, reverse psychology.

There are dress requirements at the White House as well.

Can’t go in looking like a trillionaire who is trying to look like a member of the working class, can you?

  2. Is he really switching tactics, or just switching targets? Seems like his usual blamethrowing.

  3. Well, two can play at that game.  I predict:

    *  Labour will find an intelligent, charismatic candidate who will lead them to victory
    *  Americans will start to listen to the lefty protesters, and realize how right they are
    *  American TV will eliminate all nudity, especially Lindsey Lohan
    *  Hillary will be elected President in 2008
    *  Michael Moore will lose 200 pounds, and develop a physique like Ahnold
    *  Margo will write a column that makes sense

    That should do it.

  4. Um… I guess Moore hasn’t heard of President Taft.

  5. “Michael Moore will lose 200 pounds, and develop a physique like Ahnold”

I think it’s going to take more than 200 pounds to do that, unless you mean this Arnold. Or this one.

  6. It’s just that the Democrats’ appeal has gotten more specialized.

    Don’t you mean nuanced?

  8. I am kvelling over this.  The Democrats say Moore and Kerry turned off the voters.  Moore says the Democrats have no bench.  God only knows what Kerry will say on Face the Nation this morning.

But it’s fun to watch, and just what they need to be doing for 2006…

  9. Oh, so Mikey is lambasting the Democrats for having a lot of wimps and losers, huh?  So much for the great solidarity of the DNC.  What happened, Mike, did Jimmy Carter forget to send you your daily box of doughnuts?  I guess Michael the Moor isn’t a good politician.

Eh?  Oh, the old saying:  “The only good politician is a politician that can be bought and stays[\i] bought.”

  10. “The band’s appeal has grown more selective.”

BTW, I wish I shared Michael’s pessimism. I see Hillary in ‘08 vs. - who? Who are these Republican “rising stars”?

  11. “the Democrats have a lot of wimps and losers.”

Did he mean: including or excluding himself?

  12. Looks like ol’ Mike is feeling a bit sour since Fargenheit 9/11 got dissed at the Oscars.

  13. Let’s try some of this reverse prediction stuff.  I predict Rose McGowan will NEVER come to my apartment and do for me what she offered to do for Clinton.

  15. *sigh* still waiting…

  16. Richard,

Sorry for the delay.  But Rose was over at my house ... well, you know.  Anyway, when she left, she said she was headed for your place. So, sit tight.  And, whatever you do, don’t leave.

  17. Oh, shit… this is the guy who made sure GM remained the world’s biggest car company (“Roger & Me”), killed gun control in America (“Bowling for Columbine”), and got George Bush re-elected (“Fahrenheit 9/11”).

If he says the Dems are doomed, we’re in trouble.

  19. Richard, she had a stop over at my house, but had to spend the night.

    Hey, she’s tired.
