REUTERS RODDED
Iowahawk: “Israeli Airstrike Leaves Reuters Ambulance in Flames, Chopped, Channeled.”

That’s via Chuck. And from reader Neil, who is referencing something no worksafe surfer has ever seen, this Reuterse image:

UPDATE. RebeccaH:
Green Helmet Guy looks like he’s about the steal the hubcaps. Which would be typical.
I think that picture is referencng some pic/site called “goatse” (or something spelt similar).
Yeah, and if you haven’t seen it, DO NOT LOOK FOR IT.
Posted by Jim Treacher on 2006 08 29 at 02:08 PM • permalinkThis week’s print edition of TIME has a “wailing woman in burqa on rubble” shot too. It’s too small an image of her, especially her face in a wide angle shot, to see if it’s the scarred, unlucky homeowner but it’s obviously a posed or staged photo even if it is of a different woman. I couldn’t find the pic on the TIME web site, but there is one of a doll on top of a damaged building from Katrina at the site, but no waiting wedding dresses on dress stands.
Posted by andycanuck on 2006 08 29 at 02:28 PM • permalinkThat was one of the more astonishing things I’ve seen in 60 years time (just call me Mrs. Lot).
Posted by Kyda Sylvester on 2006 08 29 at 03:55 PM • permalinkI don’t get it.
And you don’t want to get it. I endorse #5 and #8…..been there, done that, so speaking as the Voice of Experience™:
YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW.
Posted by The_Real_JeffS on 2006 08 29 at 04:32 PM • permalinkIf you really need to know about goatse, the Wikipedia article explains it without actually burning your eyes out.
Posted by Evil Pundit on 2006 08 29 at 06:36 PM • permalinkOh, this is clearly a fake: there’s no flaming Koran! Everybody knows that Israeli missiles have Koran-tracking capabilities.
Posted by Urbs in Horto on 2006 08 29 at 07:46 PM • permalinkTony Eastley (he’s the one with the squeaky voice who always sounds like he would benefit from either having his adenoids removed or his testicles re-attached), interviewing Alexander Downer on ABC AM this morning, offered the official lefty-luvvee explanation for the small amount of damage to the ambulance. The missile, according to this particular fool, simply didn’t explode. It seems it had just enough grunt to cut a neat symetrical hole in the roof of the vehicle but then totally exhausted by that exertion could only manage to lay limply on the floor.Unfortunately he didn’t bother to explain why the Lebanese Red Cross representative who revealed this war-crime to the MSM didn’t bother to show them this remarkable non-exploding missile.
Okay, thanks, the Wiki entry satisfied my curiosity. More than satisfied. I won’t be goin’ no further down that track.

Your comment and this post are giving me a flashback to this image and this former Time Magazine cover.
(If you don’t get it, don’t ask).
Y’all know you’re just making folk more curiouser, right?
Evil Pundit in #18 may have saved your eyes and your soul. But beyond that, I absolve myself of all responsibility.
Posted by The_Real_JeffS on 2006 08 29 at 09:20 PM • permalinkI used to haunt rotten.com years ago, but even I’ve managed to avoid goatse.
I used to suffer from boundless curiosity until I read about that one. I now suffer from almost boundless curiosity.
Love GreenHelmetGuy doing the carjacking, too.
Posted by Nilknarf Arbed on 2006 08 29 at 09:57 PM • permalinkOk, I was wrong. For some reason I thought the reference might had been to a woman on a porn site who was showing us her wares. Now that I read a portion of the Wiki article, I now want to erase that image from my mind.
Posted by wronwright on 2006 08 30 at 06:03 AM • permalinkLMAO. That ambulance pic is the best photoshop I’ve seen of late, and that includes regular surfing of fark.com’s photoshop gems. Laugh out loud funny! :-D
BTW, you guys are really showing your age if you haven’t heard of goatse! ;-)
Posted by Mr Snuffalupagus on 2006 08 30 at 06:42 AM • permalinkI’m not normally a fan of Wikipedia, but I gotta admit that article explained everything just perfectly.
Particularly amusing was the section “Parodies, tributes, and trivia”. I had no idea that goatse had been referenced in so many places, t-shirts, video-games, music lyrics, etc.
For some of the, er, more youthful readers may find the following two images from that Wiki article amusing:
This is the “Temple of Goatse” from a mod to Quake 2. (Note: they even included the ring on the left hand!)
And this is a suspicously remeniscent scene from “Unreal Tournament 2004”.
(Don’t worry their stills from video games, not the actual explicit goatse itself.)
Eh, tubgirl is more disturbing than Goatse.
Posted by Some0Seppo on 2006 08 30 at 08:50 AM • permalinkThanks for the reminder, Some0Seppo. NOT. I fell for that one as well. ‘Tis the downside of a good memory. Sometimes, I wish that there was an SELECTIVE ERASE button on my skull.
