RESPONSE DISPROPORTIONATE

The nancies over at Ladyboy Pantywaist have taken a good hard look at this whole Islamic terrorism thing and decided that they really don’t like John Laws.

UPDATE. Challenged to finally come up with a constructive strategy against terrorism, LP mouse Alex replies:

It’s not incumbent upon leftys to propose solutions to fix problems your ideology has created.

Odd; I thought that was why Marxism came about in the first place. Silly me.

  1. One comment ws priceless. Referring to Laws’ repeated comment that “all terrorists are Muslim”:

He did qualify his claim at one point, saying “all terrorists are Muslims except Timothy McVeigh”, then returned to the original formulation.

Alan Jones has also had some stunning editorials. Sadly, like Fox News, he is summarily written off by the Left irrespective of what he actually says. This is despite the Left’s habit of pointing and shouting “straw man, straw man” to nearly every comment - as evidently happened to Tim’s comment on the site.

  2. “All terrorists are Muslim” may be an unhelpful oversimplification, but Quietstorm’s sarcasm in the linked comments is not so useful:

Yeah! Damn Muslims. They should clean up their messes in Chechnya and Russia and Spain and Northern Ireland and…

Well, yes. Terrorists in Chechnya and Russia, and in Spain, are apparently Muslim. So much for sarcasm. And in all honesty, any currently-active terrorists in Northern Ireland are probably Muslim and trying to learn from retired terrorists.

What I think the Lamontine Left misses is that “all A are B” does not mean “All B are A”; a friend tells me that very few people understand this concept. So once more: We are not convinced that all Muslims are terrorists, but we are quite concerned that almost all the terrorists we should be concerned about feel they are faithful adherents of Islam, such that part of the solution is in the hands of the larger population of Muslims. Peaceful coexistence, and indeed democractic self-determination and individual freedom, are not innately beyond the grasp of our fellow humans who practice Islam; indeed they should be expected. Or as the Left that left us heard while reading the italicized section, “brown people must die; I am a racist redneck.”

  3. Quick update: Yes the ETA exists in Spain. But like the IRA, and unlike the Madrid train bombers, they have long since learned that mass civilian casualties do not bode well for their cause.

  5. Ladyboy Pantywaists sound quite comfortable to wear.

Islamic terrorism is a problem caused by Islamic extremism (not Islamic moderates).

John Laws could be blamed for all sorts of things (for example, bad singing and bad poetry and boring broadcasts), but not Islamic terrorism.

Ewww, I just had an image of John Laws in some Ladyboy Pantywaists.

Most of my best friends are nancies.

    1. Proving that leftys are idle chatterers, poseurs and theorists, unconcerned with real people.
    2. The opposite statement is both true and necessary, but rarely sufficient.
    3. Don’t they read what they write?

  7. It sounds like Laws has finally worked out what’s happening. He’s been sitting like a rabbit in the headlights while his ratings go rapidly south thanks to trying to hang onto the listeners that are delivered to him at 9.00am by the ABC clones,Carlton and Fitzimons. The penny has finally dropped, most of the fag-hag groupies disappear and go back to 702 to hear comforting words from Trioli and Laws has to build his audience from scratch.Meanwhile Hadley is living it up and loving it.

  11. #5 Darlene,
Do you have any pictures of a “moderate muslim”?. They supposedly exist, but like bigfoot and a certain Scottish monster they have proven rather elusive and impossible to photograph.

  12. Hey Daniel San. I have a picture of a Ladyboy Pantywaist if you’d like to buy it. 8 x 10 color prints only $10.00 (usually $14.95).

  13. Does anyone remember a speech prepared by an American businessman for a Board of Directors maybe 3 years ago?  It was a very well reasoned discussion of the problem of Islamist terrorism.  The author gave estimates of the %‘s of the Mulim community that are:
    —terrorists
    —aid and abettors of terrorists
—support the goals and actions of terrorists

It was a very common sense explanation of the problem and the difficulites the West has in eradicating it.  I’ve been looking for it on the Web but I haven’t been sucessful as yet.

  14. On the question of “moderate” Muslims, it’s worth remembering that last week “Indonesia’s top body for Muslim clerics” urged citizens “to buy weapons for Hezbollah and Hamas.” Indonesia is often touted as “moderate” yet its top Islamic warlocks back two groups that are intent on destroying Israel.

I’m with TimT #9 on the Darlene thing though.

  18. #15, Texas Bob, Welcome back!  Sorta.  Well, you know what I mean.  I hope you are well R&R’d.

I don’t know how anyone can read that snooty bastard over at LP.  That’s the first time I’ve ventured over there.  What a creep.  Reginald Denny would play him in any B movie calling for his particular type.  And he is a type - easily cast.  Pfui.

  19. It would be good if people would stop using McVeigh as some sort of balance against stating the bleeding obvious. Jayna Davis’ investigations into the Oklahoma bombing revealed some inevitable linkages with the middle east.

  20. One can call something “Catholic” while meaning it in the sense that the Mafia is “Catholic”, or the IRA is “Catholic”, or that Franco’s Nationalists were “Catholic”, or that one side of the Thirty Years’ War was “Catholic”, or that the Crusades were “Catholic”.

There’s a wide shade of meaning in there, ranging from “the people who are doing it consider themselves Catholic while pursuing ends and using means condemned by the Catholic Church for merely their own profit” to “ordered by a Pope”.  But it’s not wrong to use it in any of those senses.

Similarly, one may argue where on the spectrum of “Muslim” or “Islamic” the terrorists are—but the terms still fit.

  25. A Staggering Work of Keyboard-ruining Genius?

No, not the main post. Don’t be silly. I’m talking about this, from a comment from “Dan”.

There are all manner of flavors, Salafism (as practiced by Al-Qaeda) and Wahabbism which are generally opposed to each other as are Sunni, Shiite just to name the more well known groups. All of these have demonstrated Islamist inspired violence and Pan-Islamic desires. The absolutely common thread is of course Islam.

None of the peerless intellectuals who run LP seems to be aware that the Wahabbis and the Salafis, far from being “generally opposed”, are identical. (In Islam, calling yourself “Salafi” is roughly equivalent to a new Christian church calling itself “the church with all the real Christians”. That the Wahabbis (as everyone else refers to them) call themselves “Salafis” is a sign of just how arrogant, self-righteous and narrow they are.)

Of course, it is possible that “Dan” is just ignorant, but I think I detect a master leg-puller at work.
