<< SCHOOLBOY CRUSH RECALLED ~ MAIN ~ REDHEAD WONDERLAND >>

REMINISCENT OF OLDER ARTICLE

The ABC’s Media Watch last night exposed a loud-mouthed speeder:

2Day FM DJ Kyle Sandilands certainly isn’t one to take a speeding ticket lying down.

Thereafter followed quotes detailing Kyle’s unpleasant post-ticket reaction. Of course, Daily Telegraph readers learned of this way back on March 10:

Broadcasting bad boy Kyle Sandilands has been shamed by police - twice in one day - after launching a foul-mouthed on-air attack over a speeding fine.

Thereafter followed quotes detailing Kyle’s unpleasant ... etc. No attribution from Media Watch, however. Interestingly, the following Media Watch item condemned a Vogue Australia piece that was “cobbled together from other people’s work”, “came from other publications”, and used words that seemed “remarkably reminiscent of other, older articles”.

  2. Were the folks at Media Watch shitting gold coins while filing their report on Kyle, by any chance?

  4. Really, what is the purpose of Media Watch these days?  Weblogs identify, discuss and crucify press misdemeanors before these smug useless wankers get up for brunch.
As far as I can tell, it is nothing more than a platform to exhibit the producers’ personal biases through selecting what to cover.  A more useful program would summarise what weblogs had already exposed that week.  Let alone the telegraph.

    I should patent this idea.

  5. Media Watch ceased to be truly interesting after that sanctimonious prick Stuart Littlemore stopped doing it. Littlemore was an exceptionally unpleasant man but he had a clear target, the media, which he sneered at without fear or favour. Only he was above criticism.

After Littlemore it became just another part of the ABC’s relentless propaganda machine, churning out attacks on anyone who didn’t support a one-party socialist state. The year Marr devoted to bashing Alan Jones and John Laws was the absolute end. It could have been done more effectively in a single episode of Four Corners but Marr dragged it out for months in little 5-minute chunks. Even the most left-wing of subs tired of it after a few weeks. The habit of watching media watch didn’t return

  7. Apart from being stale news, the story as far as I can see is - the hanging judge from Australian Idol had a minor hissy fit on commercial radio about a speeding ticket. So what?

A running theme from Monica ‘tard at the moment seems to be that she wants to be get the attention of someone famous.

  8. What gets me about Media Watch is that so much of it is so relentlessly trivial.  What a waste of air time!

That’s on purpose. They focus on the trivial so there’s no room for the important stuff. They’d have to make some unpleasant admissions if they had to take a close look at themselves.

  13. I’d normally be in support of anyone who slagged off the Plod for pinching them for being a little naughty speed-wise on an empty 5AM dual carriageway, but in the case of fauxhawk boy the death penalty should apply. and no pissy injections mind, something excruciating, ugly, messy and public. I hate that twat almost as much as a politician, and I’ve never even listened to his gibberish.
