RELIGION LINKED TO TERRORISM SOMEHOW

Australian media coverage of Muslims is tainted by racism, according to journalism professor Peter Manning:

He said that the words “Arab” or “Muslim” were associated with terrorism in 89 per cent of articles that appeared in Sydney’s two major newspapers in the year after September 11, 2001.

Can’t imagine why that might be. Some kind of freakish series of coincidences, I guess. (For other recent intolerance developments, click here and here.)

So now let’s change the word “terrorists” to “freedom fighters” - my bet is they wouldn’t be complaining of racism then.  And as one man’s (them and their co-horts) freedom fighter is another man’s (us) terrorist, and the commentary is in the primary target of the terrorists domain, we have yet another example of the continual attempt to modify our beliefs, outlook and political stance to fit outsiders and a minority.

  18. Here are two enduring truths about American journalism (you can take ‘em to the bank): If the story is about a politician who’s in trouble over some malfeasance or other and his political affiliation isn’t mentioned, or it’s concealed until the final paragraph on pg. 32, he’s a Democrat (if he’s a Republican, that fact will be revealed in the headline). And, if the story concerns an incident or offense of a type that’s universally associated with a particular religion and the perpetrator’s name goes unmentioned, his name is Mohammed.

Well, forgive me if I don’t ‘feel their pain’ after decades of murder and mayhem in the name of Allah.

Day in and day out, global media present a largely one-note narrative of non-stop American villiany and wickedness, elevating anti-Americanism into a globally-fashionable form of bigotry.  The real answer to ‘why they hate us’ is that ‘they’ are rarely ever given a reason not to.

But, of course, anyone who complains about this is accused of wanting to shoot the messenger, or of wanting to whitewash the ‘truth.’

“In the video al-Zawahiri not only labels the Queen as one of Islam’s “severest enemies” but also sends a warning shot to British Islamic leaders who “work for the pleasure of Elizabeth, the head of the Church of England”. The attack by al-Zawahiri prompted intelligence officers to alert Buckingham Palace that the Queen had become a specific target of Al-Qaeda. Her security had already been upgraded after September 11, 2001.

Founded with a $490,000.00 check from the personal bank account of indicted HAMAS political director of Moussa Abu Marzook, IAP distributed the HAMAS charter, official HAMAS intifada communiqués issued from Gaza, and HAMAS glory records, which are tributes to HAMAS’ “violent successes” and lists of all the infidels it murdered.  IAP also produces HAMAS training and recruitment videos.

IAP’s finances and board were entwined with those of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, which in December 2001, the U.S. government shut down and froze the assets of, saying that it finances HAMAS. IAP is a defendant in a lawsuit filed by the parents of David Boim, an American teenager murdered by HAMAS.”

Cyclone Larry is a category 4 cyclone (in strength like the one that clobbered New Orleans, only not as big width wise), that is due to hit the north Queensalnd coast about 120 km south of Cairns tomorrow morning.  It will pass over the area known as the wet tropics which includes the towns of cardwell, mission beach (and the resorts dunk and bedarra islands) tully and innisfail.
The townsville radar is just beginning to show the approaching storm.
As about 90 percent of bananas in Australia are immediately in its path, this particular fruit is about to get real expensive.
Lets wait for the howls about GW.  The truth is that we have had hardly any cyclones for years, when the average on the east coast is something like 3 or more.  A lot of newcomers to the area will have no idea.

    2. Mussies versus the East eg Chechnya etc

    3. Mussies versus Christians eg Nigeria etc

    4. Mussies on Racism eg Darfur etc

    5. Mussies versus the Jews eg Israel etc

Why should anyone here be the slightest bit interested in what this man has to say? He is a hack that has been appointed to an adjunct chair in a second rate Australian tertiary institution. A lot of which establish these sort of bogus, touchy-feely, quasi-research departments just to keep themselves visible and operational.

  64. Davy dave or should I say Daveth, the only gay in the village….No mardi Gras.

What did Islamic thinkers invent? Did they invent cars, medicine? What?

Oh yes.. (cough cough) we need to defend Islam’s Freedom of Oppression by referring to this concept as Freedom of Religion in a Christian Jewish and infidel democracy.

Islam is like a one-way street with no exits. Democracy should be Islamophobic because Islam has nothing good in store or offer for Western Christian Jewish Democracy.

Look towards your inner self and you’ll find the real truth. Speak up and speak out and you’ll understand their collusion is psychological and western dosn’t know how to deal with the scattie brains.

  65. It’s going to be Sooooo good to see Britain beomce an Islamic State, run by the working class infidels and Islamic free pensions given to Islamics only and to a minority ONLY religion.

Cat Stevens could become the next prime minister or Ruling Shake of Britain.

    Who needs Charles anyway?

Rule Britainia, Britainia rules the way!

Remember, the game is to forget truth and discovery, because Rumi and the philopical thinkers have been forced to as well.

So if you do become Islamic, then forgo knowledge and become a scholar only. Don’t worry soon you’ll forget how to make things or investigate reason or science or anything and just sit there watching the British football ready to be harvested as a good peaceful Revert communist Islamic pod.

Knowledge as the Islamic leaders say will make you a psycho revert westerner.

I can hate him for being named Daffyd.  Or Daffeth ... or Daveth, and anyway “Dave” is NOT another version of those things!  Harrumfphgh!!    Also pshaw!  I scoff, do you hear, SCOFF at the twistoceutical philology underlying those insinuations, and if you bring them around again, I’ll scoff at them once more!
