  2. Oh gosh.  If this isn’t a signal, I don’t know what is.

(wronwright tries locating VRWC manual, hidden under piles of files and newspapers).

  3. I watched the the bulk of Obese Gaia consume and destroy Lunar Mother while waiting for the ferry this morning.

Now all cows die and no longer give milk, I fear.

  5. That’s nothing. I’ve seen the sun blood red during that dreadful drought last year.

  6. Great shot, Tim.

Can one imagine hundreds of thousands of the inebriated seeing this? Do you think they would have squirted the Visine in the eyes, OR mouth?

  7. I was up at 5am watching this, the second total lunar eclipse I’ve seen in my life.  Nothing special to some folks, but to me they’re rare, grand opportunities, these celestial happenings, and must be noted while I can.

Lucky its 2007 and not 1957.

Not to worry, Mr. Bingley. I banged some pots and pans, and she straightened right out.

  14. Two words, Woggie: zoom lens!

Not that I have room to talk. My last picture was of a pile of burning garbage that got dumped on the corner of a street when the garbage truck caught fire.

  15. We had it first!

I wonder if some 6th Century held, time-stood-still cult will see this as a sign to leave the west and go back to the cesspools they came from.

    I’m sure it’s a sign for them.

  16. The last total lunar eclipse I saw was when Halley’s Comet was hanging around.

Last night, I hung around the front porch waiting for the clouds to clear so I could show the eclipse to Magilla.

Needless to say, they didn’t, although around 8.30pm there was a bit of a break in the cover, so I dragged her out of bed and we stood up in the backyard staring at the red moon.

I agree with RebeccaH. They are beautiful and special.

The interesting thing will be whether the rugrat remembers it in 20 years’ time.
