REASON ASSAULTED

Pat Reynolds alienates all of Achewood with his holy ways. Speaking of the holy:

Supporters have launched online efforts to draft Gore, and he has not ruled out the possibility. Meanwhile, he is promoting a book due out this month, The Assault on Reason ...

“The Assault on Reason”? Pat should sue. In other Gore news, Bob Geldof has views on Al’s upcoming Gaiapalooza concerts:

“I hope they’re a success,” De Volkskrant newspaper quoted Geldof as saying in an interview.

“But why is (Gore) actually organizing them? To make us aware of the greenhouse effect? Everybody’s known about that problem for years. We are all (expletive) conscious of global warming,” he said.

Yes. This has been noted previously. In advance of those stupid concerts, Gore is working his Pat Reynolds act globally:

Al Gore, the self-appointed czar of climate control, has now elevated himself to be a critic of governments that don’t follow his advice to the letter.

But he’s getting an Achewood response:

I was in Bogotá recently, where there were numerous articles in the newspapers and magazines decrying the ridiculous actions by former Vice President Al Gore. The conclusion reached by the Colombian media is that Mr. Gore is more concerned about his run for the presidency or a possible Nobel peace prize than he is about truly helping the environment and supporting the president of Colombia, who has done more for democracy in South America, and more for the environment via the fight against narco criminals than any other person.

  1. I live my life by one simple standard: What would Ray Smuckles do?

  2. Well, only when Ray isn’t “creamy in the noggin”, that is…

Al Gore isn’t angling for the Presidency, or a Nobel Prize, as he has no interest in such trifles; he’s running for World Climate Dictator.

    Fear the Goracle!

  4. Assault on Reason?!?  Well, I suppose al-Gore’s the expert.

“Three acres of grain taste terrible with a baked potato”, hah!  Sometimes I don’t get Achewood, but this one was gold.

  7. The “sue” link is hysterical. I didn’t think that parody of the left was possible anymore, but Pat manages it. Or I hope it is parody.

on the advice of Ray’s doctor (he is reviewed as the best in the area) I agreed to consume beef once again. ONLY IN SMALL DOSES. For medical purposes. It’s not like I was deep-throating skirt steak at Chili’s, like the rest of you schlubs who clean your ears with System Of A Down and get nervous if you take a shit smaller than a baked potato.

    That Bitch!

Where does Tim come up with this stuff?

  9. I don’t know about Pat reynolds, but I think Daniel A. Farber and Suzanna Sherry: Beyond All Reason: The Radical Assault on Truth in American Law and Dick Taverne: The March of Unreason: Science, Democracy, and the New Fundamentalism might have a case.

  10. Amazingly, when “Al Gore”, the eco-warrior, intervened in our domestic politics, not one single lefty or liberal or “nationalist” rose to complain of evil Yankee interference.

  13. The only people happier than the envirodroids about Gore entering the Presidential race is the Republicans. Trust me. This actually may be a Rovean conspiracy. Then again, the best way to predict what a bureaucracy will do in the future is to assume it is run by a cabal of its enemies.
