RANK SITES RANKED

Labor is losing votes but winning online eyeballs. Following are Alexa’s ratings for Australia’s major (and minor) parties:

* Labor: 368,336

* Liberal: 456,872

* Citizens Electoral Council: 592,160

* Communists: 668,302

* Democrats: 697,368

* Family First: 1,718,011

* Nationals: 2,862,555

* One Nation: No data. Evidently One Nation has found a sub-Nationals level to occupy. But the winners overall (in a remarkably low-scoring contest) are the ...

* Greens: 327,813

  1. Well, Liberal voters are spending at least a third of the day at work.

  2. The Commies got nearly three times the ranking that Family First do? They must be running Chinese party porn on there.

    The Family First site is dreary though, maybe they should try decoding The DaVinci Code?

    The Nats rank lower than Margot’s homegirls site. No wonder the Nats don’t want to sell Telstra yet, they just found out what the internet actually is.

    8% of the Greens cut comes from Tasmania.

    Who knew there were so many dope-smoking, same-sex marriaging, E-dropping, transexual tree-hugging, child adopting lesbians on the Apple Isle?

  3. I’m confused (as usual).  WTF are these #s supposed to represent

  4. Their ranking in # of page views. This site is ranked around #40,000, thus Tim’s site is 10 times more popular than the Liberal Party’s site.

  5. I don’t need to keep checking the Liberal party’s site to know who their leader is…

    (Ob. note for our American friends - don’t be confused by the name, the Liberal party in Australia is conservative)

  6. #4, you can’t compare the rankings like that. If there were only two sites on the internet and one got 1 million visits and the other 0. There ranks would be 1 and 2. You would wrong in then claiming that the first is twice as popular at the second.

    You need to use the ‘Reach’ numbers, which puts timblair.net at 30 times more popular than liberal.org.au.

  8. The greens would get their numbers up if they put back those kooky on-line polls.

  9. Sorry to go on about it, but that Nats ranking is staggeringly bad. I’m finding it hard to come up with another Australian website that ranks lower.

    Did the guy who built the Natters site even bother hitting Refrsh to check it worked properly?

    Roll out that broadband to the farmers Natters and watch your ranking climb!

    Interesting, TimBlair.net has shifted up about 6.000 places in the Alexa rankings, while Crikey.com.au has dropped 10,000+, shedding more than 15% of its audience in months (unless I’m reading it wrong).

    Looks like Webdiary is ranking worst than Family First. If we didn’t go over there to laugh at them, they’d be ranking below even the Natters.

    I hereby retract my comments about the Greens at #2, I just smoked a filthy joint laced dipped in wicked liquid E, listened to the songs of the forest, had weird sex with a transgenderian whilst hugging a warm and giving tree, and after acting as the celebrant in a love-union between two beautiful lesbians I am now going to help them adopt a child.

    “You can see the music.”

  10. Got to agree with Duncan (#8) here,
    When the greens had their wacko polls up, it was a jolly jape to vote for the most outrageous answer, but then they wised up and cut out the online polls.
    The classic was when about 87% of voters said that Australia should INCREASE the number of troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Definitely not the answer the greenies were after.

    Nothing to to with the Chief Bastard and associated RWDBs stacking the poll.

    Oh no. That would be oafish and infantile !

  11. In case any readers didn’t already know this: the Citizen’s Electoral Council is a LaRouche front. Danger! Anti-semitic nutjob cultists! Avoid!
