RAMSEY REVISES
The SMH’s Alan Ramsey blamed the Labor party following Mark Latham’s 2005 resignation:
It was a public execution, not a resignation ... Labor did to Latham what in a more primitive age was done to heretics. It burnt him at the stake, in front of us all, to the applause of a mostly accommodating media and those interests, internal and institutional, that Latham’s confronting leadership style had so offended.
Also blamed for Latham’s resignation were state Labor leaders, Latham’s pancreas, various “low-lifes”, etc. A year on, Ramsey offers a different, more concise version of events:

The ALP is stuffed; it’s been known for some time that a major problem is that candidates and elected members are all from the party machine and have had no experience of work or life in the real world, ie., commerce and the professions and, as a result,
...Labor is left to drown in its nasty, narrow, cloistered, limiting, repulsive, infested, depressing and ultimately suffocating union gene pool.

Why is this good news? No, not necessarily because it has meant 10 year of governmental sanity and economic prosperity (OK, now where’s my Order of Australia, Johnny?), BUT mainly because it’ll drive the Howard Haters (including the ABC and SBS Commentariate and Alan Ram-arse) and general leftie population absolutely, head-bangingly, mouth-frothingly, screaming heebie-jeebies, NUTS !
“And I think to my self ...(de-dum…).... what a Wonderful World….”
Hope they keep an eye-out for the violent nutters, though.

Watching this lot driven mad is fun. But they never waste a moment on self-reflection, to examine that it might be themselves who need to change.
I used to think the likes of Ramsey, Margo, Adams etc were a pest to Jo-Ho but he must be loving it – I expect he jumped for joy when he heard Ramsey is being extended. Which loser will he back next?

I think it’s civil war amongst our Labor friends. A breakaway party possible- led by Marky Mark or Julia maybe Simon of South East Asia. Not beyond the realms of possibility. I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
My vote for Ramsay’s next idol would be Julia Gillard, rather than Shorten. He is after all, a right wing unionist. Gillard presses all the correct upper middle class progressive buttons. A ‘Commander in Chief’ in waiting. All she is missing is the kiddies.
And it will be quite hard to attack her credibility without looking like a sexist prick, especially while she is being hagiographifed by a cloying press.
Ram-arse’s next idol will be anyone that goes after Bomber Beasley.
Please, God, let it be Julia Gillard.
With that scenario, I don’t think even Jo Ho’s (love it, Aero ‘raff) iron discipline could stop him cacking himself silly.

Remember the grovelling at the foot of Latham by the local media. He could have got up and said “there is not enough ass licking of former labor prime ministers” and the media would have jumped up and shouted in unision ” How deep marky mark?”
I work with a very smart young lass who used to work for PM&C., and she thinks that Gillard is the greatest thing since sliced bread. She is very young though….Good point anagellis (and SCD). Before we know it SE Australia will be located in the same latitude belt as the sahara and namibian deserts!
Also good point about Gillard….but in the meantime we would have to put up with her being portrayed by the luvvies as the saviour of the ALP….same tune, same players, different instrument.I know it’s unforgivable, but I haven’t stopped gloating since October 2004.
Praise the Lord for stars like Latham and Ramsay. Fish. Barrel.

Continental drift - the cause of earthquakes (therefore tsunamis)and volcanos - has its root cause in global warming!
Warming from the inside, that is. Residual heat from the earth’s molten core plus from radioactive decay lead to conditions that allow those pesky plates to slide about, bumping into each other.
So its easy: stop global warming and Stop Continental Drift!

Her condescending delivery is a lot harder to put up with than her voice.
But what really irks me is her missing “L’s”.
Not only her. Breathless Bruce McAveney Kid Eager). Joanna Griggs. Eddy Everywhere. Half of the AFL TV commentators can’t pronounce “L’s”
Meuwbourne. Caufiewwd. Medaws. Freemant??uw
But they can say Launceston, Adelaide. It depends on just where the “L” falls in the word. It seems to be a Melbourne/Adelaide thing.
Can anyone explain it to me?
