PALESTINIAN BRAIN DRAIN
Having voted for Hamas, Palestinians now seem inclined to vote with their feet:
A growing number of Palestinians are openly saying they’d like to leave the West Bank and Gaza if given the chance, raising concern about the possibility of a Palestinian brain drain.
They weren’t too concerned about that back when they were stuffing detonators in their kids’ underpants and sending them off to be fitted with Semtex shirts. Brains were drained all over the place.
Birzeit University pollster Nader Said, who has monitored emigration attitudes for 12 years, says the percentage of Palestinians willing to relocate once hovered just below 20 percent. When that figure jumped to 32 percent in a September survey, Mr. Said says he was shocked.
The catalyst, the pollster says, has been Palestinian disillusionment following Hamas’s half-year in government. “What the Israelis were unable to do - try to push the Palestinian out of the country - the internal strife is achieving,” he says.
Way to go, Hamas:
Driving instructor Jawad Abul Sheikh, 38, also a father of five, said the government should step down. “The whole region is standing against them, not only Israel and the West,” he said of the Hamas rulers.
The main problem for Hamasters is their refusal to renounce terrorism and recognise Israel, which results—surprise!—in civilised nations withholding financial aid. So, is Hamas moving any closer to these positions? Hamas if:
Mahmoud al-Zahar, foreign minister of the Palestinian Authority’s Hamas-led government: We will never recognize Israel. The Zionists have occupied our land like the Nazis did with France during the Second World War. Israel is a foreign element in the Middle East. Why don’t the Jews establish their state in Europe?
Not big on celebrating diversity, is he?
funny how lefties all side against israel because they showed up unwanted and took over.
Meanwhile across the west lefties/libs/ dems want so much immigration that they will destroy the anglosphere in 20-30 years but tell everyone to be happy.

Ummmm…..mayhaps this is what the Israelis intended in the first place, hmmmmm? I do recall speculation on this a couple years ago.
What a doofus!

Probably recognized a lot of the town names from the Bible, although clearly events therein took place in Pennsylvania.
(Two old Pennsylvania Dutch [German] men are talking. Roy asks, “Where was Jesus born? Was it Nazareth? Was it Emmaus?” Fred responds “Och, no, he was born in Bethlehem.” Roy says “Oh yeah, I knew it was somewhere on the highway 22 there.”)
Perhaps we can displace Philadelphia with New Israel. There are already some fine delis in Bucks and Montgomery Counties.
Palestinian Whine: “I’d leave this Allah forsaken junk heap but I can’t find my way out and it’s the fault of the Jews once more because there are so many check points and they refuse to let me through with grenades tucked into my baby’s diaper, I keep telling them he shits grenades but they only laugh at me so how can I help being angry and trying to kill their children because they show me no respect. GIVE US A STATE!!”
Oh, they still have brains, they’ve just kicked out the Reason that made them human brains.
The consequences? Chief among them is death. The other consequences are made up of the various torturous roads taken towards death.
Better to decide for yourself if it is okay to swallow your spit during the most holy month of mass murder and mayhem. Even better is to separate yourself from any philsophy that has a most holy month for mass murder and mayhem, and decide when to swallow your spit all by yourself.
Having voted for Hamas, Palestinians now seem inclined to vote with their feet (now that the place is unliveable).
Same thing could happen here. You just watch the wailing and gnashing of teeth if enough stupid Australians vote for Beasley and he opens the refugee floodgates, destroys the American alliance, caves in on every idiotic Green scheme….
If you vote for disaster, don’t complain when you get it!
Hamastication - the chewing up and spitting out of a seemingly endless line of dupes.
Why don’t the Jews establish their state in Europe?
Because Israel was their place. Why did the Mussies go all the way to Vienna? Spain?
Because they don’t know their place. Occupation is ok if it is them that’s doing the occupying. It’s still ok to flood into a western country and start to say that it’s their place now.a Palestinian brain drain.

Having a little trouble with that cause/effect thing aren’t they. Though if they just left the refugee camps and got on with their lives like, say the Sudetendeutsche, or the other millions of Displaced Persons in the world - hey, they might actually have O.K. lives and their children a future! Remember these are special UN category “refugees” unlike any other in the world. Maybe they’re just getting sick of being cannon fodder & political place holders.
During a lull between classes at the Yassar Arafat Institute of String Theory and Particle Physics Research, Gaza City.
Achmed: Farouk, my brother and fellow graduate student of Palestinian physics, why so glum?
Farouk, staring at his laptop: It is this I am reading, of the drain of the brains of our beloved Palestine.
Achmed: You should be paying more attention to your studies. We have a big test in Semtex 301 tomorrow. That class is a killer! But you have captured my interest. In what manner are the brains of Palestine being drained?
Farouk: Primarily by means of the feet. This is what I have read in the infidel blog of the Tim Blair. Also, according to the Birzeit University pollster Nader Said, 32 percent of the brains are now jumping out of Palestine. This is what this blog of Australia tells me.
Ali: Come, come, my dear Farouk. How is it possible to extract brains through the feet? Or for brains to jump? This is nonsense. It is a well-established scientific fact that while feet may jump, brains may not. Brains may be propelled considerable distances with the proper application of high explosives. But they do not jump. Do you not realize this filthy Crusader is spreading Zionist lies?
Achmed: I know this Nader Said, my good fellow, and I can assure you he has no brains at all.
Farouk: No, no. I can feel it. Even as I read this, it is as though my brain is draining!
Ali: Is it that you feel more stupid?
Farouk: Of course not, you goat! ... Only emptier. Devoid of brains. As though they have been drained!
Achmed: As the Zionists drain a swamp?
Farouk: Precisely, as though it was done by Zionists.
Ali, peering into Farouk’s ear: Let me look.
Farouk: What do you see? Tell me, my brother!
Ali: By al-Jove, I believe you have spoken truthfully, for I see nothing at all! Beyond the earwax, only darkness! This is a remarkable result. I must take notes!
Farouk: My brains! The Zionists have drained them!
Achmed: Quick, Ali, look at mine! I am feeling strangely lightheaded!
Ali: You too! Cleaner than Farouk’s, but just as dark! I dare not let you look at mine! Oh look, there is our exalted professor. I say, abu Professor! We have made a great scientific discovery. It is our brains ... they are draining!
abu Professor: You three donkeys are still here? Aren’t you supposed to be practicing for Friday’s big Martyrdom match against Gaza Institute of Technology? Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a cab to drive ...

Frankly, I find it hard to belive that a HAMAS administration could be much worse than the dolts elected in Qld, NSW and Brackistan- at least with HAMAS you occasionally have the IDF stuff one in a sack or blow the bugger to flinders with a Hellfire, no such luck with the smarmy, imbecilic grinning, chromosomally challenged bottom feeders that make up the state ALPs.
With all the dotted lines on the maps these days, it’s a bit hard to tell where ME countries start and finish. But I thought that Gaza was presently part of Egypt and the West Bank part of Jordan.
If I am wrong, I will welcome a correction from Mental Floss because he is one of the few I would trust to know the exact situation.
If I am right, MF might be able to tell us why Jordan and Egypt just don’t give the two disputed territories to the “Palestinians” and let them run it as Palestine, Bedouinistan or whatever. If the Arabs stop hurling rockets at Israel, I’m sure the Israelis and the rest of the West will help them get established in their new country.
I can see that it would be no time before they had a viable currency, stable government, schools, hospitals, running water, trains on time and maybe even a small airline.
Hmmm. Haven’t they already tried that?PALESTINIAN BRAIN DRAIN

Suffice for the moment that Jordan and Egypt “lost” the aforementioned regions by prosecuting an unsuccessful war on the State of Israel in 1967. Egypt regained of the so-called territories in the ‘70s via the Begin/Sadat treaty, with the notable omission of the densely populated Gaza strip.
I believe that Jordan (like Egypt and the Sinai sans Gaza) has no interest whatever in the possession of territories and population inimical to the Hashemite regime (google “Black September” and you’ll gain an understanding of why).
Essentially, “Palestinians” are Bedouin with no more attachment or right to the lands in dispute than your average a Berber has to Algeria or Libya (or Spain, for that matter).
There are many here that can answer your query more fully.

I have to correct you. Palestinians are not Bedouin. Bedouin is a generic name for a nomadic desert-dwelling Arab.
Whilst Palestinian propagandists like to lie about their “rich connection with the land”, Palestinian is the name given in 1967 to various Arabs, comprising Egyptians, Jordanians and so forth who were in the area. Prior to 1967 the term was of course unheard of. I suppose some Bedouins could call themselves Palestinian if they chose, but suspect they prefer to be Israeli Arabs given the life this permits them to have.
For an amusing background, see this rant
#36 Dan. What you post is in large part true, I suppose (though I don’t see the “rant” you reference as being as pertinent to the topic as you might).
My experience in Israel in the 70’s (Greater Israel, before the treaties) included many an extended wander throughout the Southern “West Bank” (Judea), the Sinai, the Negev and Gaza. I met mostly Bedouin Arabs, professing no allegiance to either Jordan or Egypt. Perhaps this experience coloured my assessment of their demographic.
Hey, I’ve been wrong before.

Kind of. The word “Palestinian” is quite old - what is new is the meaning. It now specifially refers to Arab people.
Before the 1960s, it was simply a geographic description like “New South Wales” or “West Virginia”. It had no ethnic connotations at all. For example, the title “Palestinian Jew” was often used in the past, whereas today to people who haven’t read history this would sound absurd.
There are some great examples around that really show how successful this modern propaganda has been.
- For example, “The Jerusalem Post” which has been a Jewish newspaper since its inception was known as “The Palestine Post” before 1948. At the time, nobody saw any contradiction in this.
- The PLO’s first published charter in 1964 referred to themselves as “Palestinian Arabs” which, if nothing else, is at least an honest term. If they had simply referred to themselves as “Palestinians” people would have been very confused at the time.
- I once saw an essay which examined the use of the word “Palestinian” in European media in the pre-Israel era, and showed photoscans of articles from the late 19th century and early 20th century. The collection of articles were on subjects like ‘Palestinian artists tours England’, Universities showing exhibitions of Palestinian culture or artefacts, etc, etc (you get the idea).
Now what was really striking was that in 9 out of 10 articles referenced, the “Palestinian” referred to was Jewish. (I presume this was because mid-east Jewish communities had strong cultural and commercial links with their kin in Europe, and were thus more likely to visit and interact there.)
This merely re-enforces the fact that the term was 100% geographic description and 0% ethnic description at that time.
And the best example of all…..
“The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct ‘Palestinian people’ to oppose Zionism.
“For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa. While as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.”
- PLO executive committee member Zahir Muhsein, in a 1977 interview with the Dutch newspaper “Trouw”.
#45: Farouk, as a two-fisted, red-blooded American detective, I’m obliged to inform you that I don’t know what kind of things they go for in Sydney, but if you’re really interested, I’ll put a man on it (the normal fee is $100 a day plus expenses). We can run down the King’s Cross thing for you, too.
Intercom buzzes. Sheila’s voice is heard.
“Paco, the guys from Homeland Security are here. Shall I send them in?”
Farouk leaps out of his chair like he’s just sat on the mother of all whoopee cushions.
“Oh, thank you, Mr. Paco, but, er, I am remembering that I am having another appointment. Ooo! Look at the time! Your office, it has the back door, yes?”
I drew the Ruger: a stainless steel .38 that I referred to fondly as “Shiny Sal”.
“My office, it has the back door, yes, but I always insist that my guests go out the front. Boys, is this your man?”
Two dark-suited feds had entered the office quietly. The one with knuckles the size of walnuts nodded. “We’ll take over from here, Paco. Thanks for the tip.”
As this Farouk character was being handcuffed, he turned to face me, his map twisted with hatred. “Son of a dhimmi whore! I spit on you and your dhimmi mother and your dhimmi father and your dhimmi brother and. . .”
“What is this, Islam for Dhimmis? Save the small talk, Sinbad. And here’s a tip for you. When you get to Guantanamo and are trying to figure out which way to turn when you say your “now-I-lay-me’s” five times a day, due east is in the direction of the American flag. Ask any Marine; he’ll be glad to point it out to you.”
#48 Mr Achmed. Excuse me, do I know you? The Farouk of which you speak as you very well know is that the library, sitting next to you, intently studying for his Semtex 301 exam on his laptop. I am an another Farouk. We are as numerous as fleas, as these wretched Christian pigs are discovering! Farouks rule!

Odd, I seem to remember some Jews wandering around a bit (40 years?) before settling down in said area for oh, a few millenia now.

Any member of a community of Arabic-speaking desert nomads of the Middle East.
Ethnically, the Bedouin are identical to other Arabs. Bedouin traditionally have made their living by animal husbandry, and social rank among them is determined by the animals that they herd: camel nomads enjoy the greatest status, followed by sheep and goat herders and, finally, cattle nomads. Traditionally, Bedouin would migrate into the desert during the rainy season and return to cultivated areas during the dry season, but since World War II (1939–45) the governments of many countries have nationalized their range lands, and conflicts over land use have arisen. Many Bedouin have since adopted sedentary ways of life; most, however, retain pride in their nomadic heritage.
