OWNERSHIP RETURNED

Discount barrister Jeremy Sear, whose sites were last week subject to an extreme Lamberting, has now had them restored. To celebrate, Jeremy immediately gets something completely wrong.

UPDATE. Caught in an error, Jeremy initially posts a correction (after prodding from his readers). Then he removes his correction and simply re-writes the post to cover his tracks. This guy could give lawyers a bad name ...

UPDATE II. Jeremy’s fan is unimpressed.

  1. Where was Jeremy when saddam was murdering his people by the thousand - I bet he didnt complain about that.

  2. They’re brown surfmaster.  The left is not concerned with the death of brown people when committed by their own.

Think about all the terrible atrocities and genocides of the past 100 years.  The Soviet Union.  China.  Cambodia.  Rwanda.  What did the left do to prevent it them or to stop the mayhem when it began?  Nothing.  They only care when it involves the US, Great Britain, or Australia.  It’s then that they can strut and preen before the cameras.

    Morally bankrupt.

  3. One question more.  How many protest marches did the left stage against Saddam’s brutal treatment of his people?  How many?  100? 10?  1?

  4. The only protest from the left I remember concerning Saddam (prior to his end in 2003) was when the peace movement demanded that Kuwait should remain his.

  6. Imagine his mother bragging to neighbours about her barrister son…
    Mum: “My son’s a barrister.”
Neighbour: “Oh really? Have I heard of him?”
Mum: “Um, maybe. He tells me he’s well known.”
    Neighbour: “Where does he work?”
Mum: “Er, he doesn’t work much. Doesn’t want to stress himself out…” Neighbour: “Does he do well for himself?”
Mum: “Ah, yeah, I suppose you could say that…”
Neighbour’s kid: “Yeah, he just doesn’t do any good for anyone else.”

For some reason, this struck me as funny.

It works for Baghdad Girl. I checked her blog the other day. Apparently things got a bit hot in Baghdad, so they moved to live with relatives in the UAE. But she had to leave her pussycats behind. I hope one day things will be sorted out, and this young girl can live the kind of “normal” life we inhabitants of the Anglosphere take for granted.

Oh, and watch out for Jeremy - he’s a real dick! /Christmas in Canada

  11. Of course Sears is so disgusted by Iraqs new court and parliamentary system he will change it, right?

  12. Jeremy Sear has put out a general invitation for people to photoshop his face on to other pictures so I have tried to do something topical and as Saddam has gone to his maker what could be more topical that Jeremy in Saddam’s draggy underpants!

A further addition to the fun is this one which originally featured the head of Mr Bean which is sort of appropriate as Jeremy has for quite some time used an image of Rowan Atkinson in the guise as Blackadder as his avatar.
For some strange reason he has declined to run my efforts but I thought it would be nice to share these with his “fans” here at the house of Tim

Not as much as Iain “photoshopping Jeremy Sear’s face onto photos of people in their underpants gives me a creepy thrill” Hall, of course.

    But still.

  14. Jeremy your invitation to photoshop your head into other pictures was without reservation and I did give you a chance to run these at your place. Being able to laugh at your self is a grat virtue.Perhaps you should try it :o)

  19. Why did you start blogging Jeremy?

Probably because his cat kept ignoring him when he went on his rants.

Cats are only interested in rants if you’re waving your arms around - they like the movement. Jeremy’s strait-jacket prevents the hand movements now, so the cat goes to check the Whiskas bowl went the ranting starts now.

  25. “Caught in an error, Jeremy initially posts a correction (after prodding from his readers).”

That’s a lie, Tim. I posted the correction myself before anyone had noticed that the quote was actually from earlier than I’d realised. Before they noticed it. Before you noticed it.

You only became aware of it BECAUSE of my update in which I clarified that the quote was from earlier.

Anyway, since that was apparently not considered good enough, I’ve now amended the unintentionally potentially “misleading” expression “to the execution of Saddam Hussein” to “Saddam Hussein’s punishment” instead.

Want to amend YOUR dishonest claim, Tim? You didn’t “catch me out” - I fixed it myself before you were even aware of it. I did it transparently, which is the only reason you knew about it.

  26. The phrase “caught in an error” doesn’t indicate that I caught you, Jeremy. Read a little.

As for the sequence of events, you first hid your clarification in comments, after which a reader prodded you into running it on the post itself.

Since then, such is your devotion to “transparency”, that you’ve removed your correction and re-written your post. Can’t admit any mistakes, can you?

    Posted by Tim B. on 2007 01 01 at 10:45 PM • permalink

  27. I admitted it immediately, you tool. As for “transparency”, the UPDATE to which you refer outlines the sum total of changes to the post, which are minor. Your implication, that it’s been largely rewritten as a result of my being “caught out”, is simply untrue.

    Posted by MrLefty on 2007 01 02 at 02:53 AM • permalink

  28. #27 If you’re going to complain about the number of Blairites visiting your site, perhaps you should stop lying and manipulating the conversation when someone points out that you’re wrong.

And I’m pretty sure that this guy was supporting you and proves Tim’s point completely that you hid the clarification in the updates.
