OVERPOPULATION SOLVED
Trouble at my former place of employ:
The Bulletin has suffered a severe, if not fatal, blow with the resignation of its national affairs editor Tony Wright. Wright has accepted a similar position with The Age and will replace Michael Gordon, who is moving on to edit the Saturday paper.
Also quitting the 126-year-old ACP magazine is picture editor Roxy Holder, which takes the number of departures since the arrival of editor-in-chief John Lehmann to upwards of a dozen.
Actually, I think it might be upwards of 15. The place ain’t happy, for lots of reasons. Still, at least they’ve picked up Rob Hirst.
Also quitting the 126-year-old ACP magazine
How can a magazine evidently devoted to the Colt .45 (Automatic Colt Pistol) be 126 years old? The weapon only came on line in 1911.

The age of the magazine was derived from a study published in The Lancet

I re-upped when Tim joined their editorial team, but they have got worse and worse (not helped by the Newsweak [sic] content), and with few Not The News columns appearing I ignored their subscription renewal this time around.
#10 Thanks to Rob Hirst, I think the Bulle is doing a reasonable line in tedious posturing

Apparently Helen Caldicott thinks nuclear is not the answer and Tim Costello thinks we should do something about poverty. Stay tuned for more revelations that will have your boot well and truly rooted.
Posted by Margos Maid on 2007 03 29 at 10:06 PM • permalinkMy 15-yr subscription to the Bullie has lapsed & probably won’t ever be renewed. Rob Hirst as a lead columnist did it. I’m not saying a drummer in a rock band can’t have an opinion on politics, because he’s just as entitled to an opinion as I am. However, I don’t have to read it or swallow it whole.

What exactly is John Lehmann up to?
