OBAMA VOTE COLLAPSES

Scene from a Barack Obama rally, September 8, 2007:

“A woman standing in front of the stage appeared to faint as Obama spoke about Iraq,” the Associated Press reported. “The candidate paused and asked the crowd to make way for firefighters. One supporter shouted, ‘You’re a good man,’ leaving Obama momentarily at a loss for words. ‘Well, I’m not the only one stopping to help her,’ he said, sounding almost embarrassed.”

If Obama was embarrassed after one woman fainted, how must he be feeling after several additional fainting episodes? “A cynic might wonder if the whole thing isn’t staged,” wonders cynical James Taranto, “given how often it happens and how well-honed and self-serving Obama’s standard response seems to be.”

Oh, come now. The press are always getting things wrong. Further research will likely reveal that the charismatic candidate wasn’t addressing excitable rallies at all, but was in open fields talking to goats.

UPDATE. A Seattle photographer points out that women have also fainted at Hillary rallies. Probably from fear.

UPDATE II. Ernie G.: “OK, he can get people to faint. Bet he can’t drive out Body Thetans.”

  1. Good Lord, those goats look like they went into instant rigor mortis - when they go down, their legs are as stiff as boards. Are we sure they fainted and they aren’t all having cardiac apoplexy?

Regarding Obama, what worries me about all this fainting is it’s a sure sign of a cult of personality. His electorate isn’t judging him on his accomplishments or goals, they couldn’t care less about anything real. They just think he’s dreamy and that’s why they’re going to vote for him.

  3. I wouldn’t be surprised either way.
On one hand, if I was managing Obama’s campaign, having women faint when he talks would sound like a pretty good idea (as long as you didn’t get busted).
On the other hand, he’s a charismatic guy with superb speaking ability, who’s tapping a deep emotional vein on the left. He’s the man of the moment. It wouldn’t shock me at all if impressionable young lefties were swooning in his presence right now.
Either way, it won’t… it can’t last. Obama fever is a wave that will break.

  4. TTT (Tangential To Topic), did anyone see the picture of Miss Chelsea Clinton that was front-and-center on Drudge the other day?

All I could think was, “That poor, poor girl.  She looks just like her mother.”  :-(

  5. This kind of phenomena happens at Benny Hinn rallies, and lots of other religious gatherings.

Some of it is hysteria, some of it is the opressive conditions leading to mania, and yes, some of it is even a desire to be a part of the whole charade, and be part of the actual action.

People can do strange things when they gather in large groups like this.

    Seriously.

That is Barack Hussein Obama, exactly!

If that isn’t scary enough…this should be.

What in the world are advisers to both Senators Obama and Clinton doing in Syria in the middle of a presidential campaign — and why are the two campaigns so unforthcoming about the details of the visits? The same week that a terrorist mastermind harbored by the Baathist regime in Damascus was assassinated by a car bomb, both one of Mr. Obama’s foreign policy counselors, Zbigniew Brzezinski, a long-time critic of Israel, and one of Mrs. Clinton’s national finance chairs, Hassan Nemazee, were meeting with President Assad.

My guess was reading and approving surrender documents…Prepared by Assad and Ahmadinejad.

  12. #9 El Cid,
Notice that Hillary sent a man who is a national finance chairman for her campaign.  Perhaps Hassan Nemazee is the Arabic for James Riady?

As for the trip as a whole, well there’s a reason I call the surrender now crowd Copperheads.

Very well could be…although with the Clinton’s there could be several others.

Agree with the “copperheads”, but honestly, these bozo’s are so low, they could slip under one.

I must say, this election has me quite concerned.

I don’t think it is a payoff, as much as I believe it’s a sellout.

Although the Brits burned our White House down during the 1812 War…maybe they did have some Islamics…:).

  24. Very interesting article in Real Clear Politics -always worth a read -on role models.  It suggests that McCain is cast and has been refined in the mould of Winston Churchill, rather than as the greatly desired second manifestation of Ronald Reagan.  The author makes a persuasive case…...and one could db a lot worse…...... eg a role model called hope hopey hope hope hope springs eternal
