NORMAL WORKING DAY CHAOS OBSERVED

“Australian politicians witness chaos in London,” claims the ABC headline. According to the story, however, they witnessed anything but:

The Federal Opposition’s foreign affairs spokesman, Kevin Rudd, was visiting the city when the attacks occurred.

“I’m in London, I’m just outside Liverpool Station and what I see around me are Brits going about their normal working day lives,” he said.

“I think what I have seen a lot of evidence today is the Brits not allowing the horrendous attacks which have occurred across London today to achieve any sort of moral victory.

“In fact what I see is the British bulldog spirit alive and well.”

Chaos!

  2. SBS was dribbling on about the same thing, saying it was chaos, then they too had Rudd on saying what everyone else is seeing, amazingly calm people that just had 4 bombs go off in their city.

  5. From Sher Khan at The Guardian:

‘Whatever people feel about the current UK foreign policy, this cannot be used as an excuse to murder innocent people going about their business.’

Whatever. Or maybe it can, since you raised the issue.

‘Islam does not sanction such murder. Indeed, there is no one with a genuine belief in God who can have sympathy for such evil acts.’

There is no-one? Yes, there is. They just blew up some trains and buses. Then they admitted they were al-Qaida - true believers in your god.

‘The pursuit of justice cannot be used as an excuse for committing injustices against others.’

So Islam is right all along. Getting you now. Coming through loud and clear.

‘People who have lost their way in life have challenged our values.’

Evil jargon. Undeserving of any rational scrutiny or comment whatsoever.

‘However, out of such darkness there can be a dawn.’

Great! An upside to the terrorist bombing of London resulting in 52 dead people!

‘Although there will be some who use these atrocities to sow division and hatred, amid some hate mail to UK Muslim websites there have been many messages of concern. People simply wanting to extend the hand of friendship and to make sure that as Muslims we do not feel vulnerable and exposed, as was the case after September 11. Such is the great spirit of London that I am convinced Londoners of all faiths and none will stand firm and resolute against this aggression.’

‘Muslims feeling vulnerable and exposed receiving emails from concerned people ‘merely wanting to extend the hand of friendship’ after avowed Islamicists have planted four murderous bombs on the Mondon transpiort system in peak hour ... is the dawn in the darkness?’

    It might be your dawn.

But as one Londoner said yesterday, beautifully avoiding the evil obfuscation which your religion so obstinately hangs on to like some medieval comfort blanket:

    ‘Fuck off, Sunshine!’

  6. Sorry, formatting error - fourth last paragraph should be:

  7. Well, I can see why ABC journalists would consider people working to be “chaos”. Why, nobody’s even enjoying a mocca frappacino and croissant and reading the newest Ramsey or Adams piece decrying Chimpy McHitlerburton’s continued affront to world peace - such level of societal devastation is truly incomprehensible.

  8. We had the same trope running after the Olympic park bombing in Atlanta.

Every major news outlet was convinced the bombing would cripple the next day’s events and lined up with ghoulish glee to get the mandatory “I’m so scared, poor little me, how could this happen?” lines.

Everybody they interviewed, every single person in the long lines at the gate next morning said exactly the same thing: “We’re coming back to show them they won’t win, they can’t scare us, etc.”

And the newsies wrap-up… “and a climate of fear hovers over the Olympics…”

  10. Yeah, the Detroit News headline was “Bombings Paralyze London”  (or close enough, it used the word paralyze.)

These terrorists are like sub-human filth who must be captured and eliminated, and we condemn them and their evil.
