NICE PEOPLE FORCED TO DO BAD THINGS

Geopolitical supergenius Margo Kingston:

Remember Bush’s famous state of the union speech when he dubbed North Korea and Iran part of the “axis of evil”? As warned by critics at the time, both nations have gone for nukes, or at least the pretence of having or nearly having them, to prevent a US invasion. Smart, Bush. Real smart.

If only Bush had dubbed them the “axis of sweetness. Then Iran and North Korea would have invested in cuddly bunnies and dear little puppy dogs.

  1. Remember how leftists like Margo Kingston said that if we engaged in multilateral diplomacy with our adversaries that we could overcome our differences and the blind would see and all that? Well after years of sucking up to North Korea and the mad Mullahs of Iran they are threatening to obliterate us all with the nukes they may or may not have. Smart Margo. Real smart.

  2. Once again the racism of the left shows itself.

Dark-skinned and slant-eyed people can never be responsible for their own actions. Everything must ultimately be the responsibility of a white person or nation.

One of the genuises at the Herald’s letter pages mounted the same argument today:

“By conducting its foreign affairs along an almost exclusively unilateral front, the US has set the stage for nations such as North Korea to conduct themselves in a similar fashion”.

Leaving aside the obvious nonsense of “unilateral” action that involves dozens of nations (but not France! It’s unilateral unless the French are involved!), it’s clearly beyond the understanding of the writer that an asian nation could even aspire to set its own course and make its own decisions.

  4. So Jemmah Cahtah goes and sucks up to the Norks and tries bribing them and it’s all swell, no possible chance they’d go nucular (and for those snickering at how Dubya pronounces it, remember that Jemmah - who was a nuclear engineer - pronounces it the same way).

But Dubya calls the psychotic grass eating commie clowns’ bluff, and they go ahead and do what they were already doing all along, and now it’s his own damn fault?

Well, if I ever suffered serious head trauma, then maybe I’d be justified in thinking the same way Margo does.  But until then, I have no excuse to be so incredibly, mind boggling stupid.

  5. If Bush just lissened to Magro then he wood see that harassising the ‘axes of evil’ is ridickuluos; perhaps then all the badness in the world wood end and there wood bee hapenis and sunshine and rainbose in the sky. Then the Irans and North Korians would stop making nucular bombs and macheen guns and tanx and give big hugs insted.

  6. Wow!  And the Norks whipped up their nukes in less than two years!  Where were these assholes when we were fighting Tojo?

  8. Margo should learn how to use a calendar. Both the NorKs and Iran were into Nukes while George Bush was governor of Texas. Whatta maroon.

  11. Margo says, the use of the words “axis of evil” is sufficient to justify a nuclear weapons program.

How about ” axis of really really evil” - does that justify the firing of nuclear missiles?

Just how badly has Margo been scorned?

    Oh, norks.

They are about as real as my hair-colour, honey.

    Puppies can be quite vicious.

Margo and minions live in a world of their own. Least if you write for her site, you can go with the first draft.

  14. Considering that it only took NK 2 years to develop working nukes, it’s just as well we invaded Iraq when we did. Isn’t that right, Margo? Eh, Margo? Didn’t catch that, Margo?

  16. Of course the NK’s and Iranians ran to develop weapons to save themselves from Bushitler…why before that they were busy growing daisies and feeding the poor, bringing everyone to God, and
urging all to the gentle path of righteousness. Since Bushitler uttered his crypto nazi neo imperialist jesusphilic jewfearing masonloving baubles of stupidity these peaceloving hordes of gentleness have been forced to eat tree bark to switch all their flower people resources to a self defense we all know they would rather avoid.

  21. Margo’s take on the issue is very similar to that of Liberal Larry over at Blame Bush, who also provides a recap of the pre-dubya policy-

“Iron Balls Carter quickly persuaded North Korea to abandon their nuclear ambitions. In return for scrapping their nuclear weapons programs, the U.S. would provide them with the means to build nuclear weapons”

    Posted by Ross on 2005 02 12 at 02:59 PM • permalink

  22. I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again, Bush is going to take care of North Korea and Iran by doing what he’s currently doing - nothing.

Let’s look at North Korea first. Do nothing about the NKs having nukes. Japan and South Korea have the technology, the know-how and the reactors to go nuke themselves, and they can bloody well start defending themselves. Withdraw US forces from Japan and South Korea to somewhere they’ll be more useful. Japan and South Korea figure out they need to defend themselves against the NK nuke threat, and so start developing their wn nukes. This completely freaks China out. Lil’ Kim dies of a mysterious and sudden heart attack, and a Chinese-backed military strongman takes over in NK. No more talk of nukes.

And now Iran. Elections next door in Iraq prove that a nascent democracy can succeed in the Middle East. Two thirds of Iran’s population was born after the Islamic revolution, so they’ve never known anything but theocracy. Now they see they can have democracy. Second Iranian revolution. New regime wants to make nice with rest of world, international (read US) inspectors invited in.
