  3. My favourite was always WA’s “State of excitement”.

It was on WA plates for a couple of years before someone pointed out the obvious.

Can’t recall it, but I think a while back there was a slogan on SA plates that made everyone laugh and was rather hastily withdrawn when the second meaning registered.

  5. “We used to be known as the Garden State,” Ash said sadly, shaking her head. “But that all went away when the rain stopped coming.”

Looking more upbeat, she looks up again. “At least we don’t claim to be the Smartest State though…”

  6. HAHAHAHA This just goes to show what those dopey buggers in Victoria know about most of OZ.  Nothing.

They seem to have claimed the arid desert heart of OZ, while leaving us in WOZ (the wrong side of ‘the frontier of civilization’), with the resource rich areas, great wine country, south west forests, farmland, excellent coastal beaches and fishing grounds (its only treacherous if your from ‘civilization’, we can swim here).

Giving the Kimberley to the Territory isnt really that bad, the place runs on territory time anyway.

Seriously all that land they’ve claimed there is the shittiest land in the country, probably the world.  Unless of course you like lots of sand and no water.

But I guess if the only map of OZ you’ve seen was in a lonely planet guide in your local cafe, you could be forgiven for thinking the Murray river starts at the WOZ border and ends somewhere inland of Brisbane.

Just be sure to put some Vegemite behind your ears to keep the drop bears away if you ever leave Melburn…
