MEETING MOVED
An update on Hizb-ut-Tahrir (mentioned earlier here and here):
An extremist Muslim group linked to the London bombings secretly booked the Bankstown Town Hall under a fake name so it could stage a conference on converting the world to Islam later this month.
The Daily Telegraph can reveal the group Hizb-ut-Tahrir – banned in parts of Europe and the Middle East but not here – gave Bankstown City Council a pseudonym to secure the venue for the day after Australia Day.
“The group has booked under different names in the past, and we can confirm that occurred on this occasion,” a council spokeswoman said yesterday.
“Bankstown Police were contacted and they advised that they had assessed this conference as a peaceful meeting.”
The militant group told council the conference was a peaceful meeting of an organisation called “Risala.”
Good news: Bankstown council has since reversed its decision. Meanwhile, the Hizbian YouTube clip located by reader Curious George is now running at several News Ltd sites (and LGF) and was also played this morning on 2GB. More on the Hizbies in this Daily Telegraph editorial.
Here’s the deal with free speech at Australia.net, Wasim. You have to register before you can comment. In order to register you have to agree that you’re not out to destroy the site. You see, the rest of us quite like posting here.
On your own website (Risala) you state quite categorically that there is no separation between Islam and the State. That is, wherever Muslims live, they are commanded to work for true Islam, which is when you run the place. So you’re not just calling for Khilafah in Muslim lands, are you old buddy? You’re calling for it everywhere that Muslims live.
Bleating about your rights in a liberal democracy is a bit rich when your stated aim is to tear down the joint.
cheers

Hiz Butt says “Bankstown City Council will have to explain to the Muslim community and the wider Australian audience” why they cancelled the global warring meeting.
the wider australian community shouldn’t need any explanation, but for the Hiz butters a variation on an angels theme might do:
‘are we ever gonna have sharia here?
-no way, get f**ked, f**k off! ’

The group, banned in Germany and the Netherlands as well as being linked to the terrorists behind the London bombings in 2005, were seen spreading hate pamphlets around the Bankstown area in August.
News Ltd reports the group was then forced to move a planned meeting for that month at the Bankstown Town Hall because the material breached the council’s rules not to allow meetings that incited hatred.
A big win for the blogosphere, as this story went round very quickly after the YouTube link was put up yesterday. If that hadn’t happened the conference would have gone ahead as planned with little or nil public knowledge or scrutiny, beyond a paragraph or two in the MSM. The reaction around Sydney this morning suggests Bankstown Council might have had a far nastier situation than Cronulla 2005 on its hands if the Hizbot-Terror day had gone ahead, and was in fact protecting its property assets by cancelling the booking.
I think Diversity Outreach Officer Joanthan deserves a raise.
LOL!

Wasim what’s-his-name can bleat all he wants about democracy and free speech, but perhaps he wasn’t told that there are limits, even in the West, though perhaps we should consider Sharia law for the few who want to live with it - him, for example.
BTW, what were the conference door prizes going to be? Rocket launchers?
Seriously though, it concerns me that the conference has been promoted on the Internet for over two years and it’s only now that Bankstown Council and others have woken up to what it’s all about. I trust and hope that the federal Government has been watching this - unfortunately, I have no faith whatsoever in our NSW state government, or its police “force”.
Till today, I have to admit I was concerned. But now, let them come, I’m safe.
See, my father enlisted in WWII and was a gunner. He fired 25 pound Howitzers at the enemy. My mother’s father fought in WWI. So you might say that pointing and shooting bloody huge guns is part of my culture.
And now I know, courtesy of Magistrate Tanya Fong Lim that you can carry around and threaten people with any weapon you like provided you possess it for cultural reasons.
#14 - A machete? good thing he wasnt caught carrying a tree branch
Bankstown council should have let these sad maggots have their “peaceful meeting” so we could see the enemy. This group is the political wing of Islamic terrorism, a brainwashing service for Al Queda etc. This pig ignorant mob don’t realise that civilised society has not yet started the serious business of dealing with their kind. Let them keep on slowly winding us up, then when the hand that feeds them suddenly slaps them down, you will hear the squeals for miles.
#14 cool- that means i can carry a lee enfield round with me everywhere doesn’t it?
i’m sure i can find plenty of homeresque uses for it to convince any magistrate that it’s not just a weapon

They are playing a victim game.
What is the greatest oppression one can commit to a Muslim?
Forbidding the spreading of Allah and his Prophet Mohammed( peas be upon him) word, that’s what.
So the way I read it is that these guys will keep provoking our tolerance until we react, then we will prove ourselves true infidels, unfit for the tender mercies of Allah.
At this point the true Muslim will have no choice but to take up arms and defend the faith.
I smell revolution in the air.
#14 For your amusement, I was looking at the link and my rugrat joined me at the desk. She looked at the screen and asked: “Who is that ugly man?”
I told her his name is David Gulpilil, which got repeated back to me as “David Goblin.”God, I love four year olds.

We can but hope, #22.Posted by Crusader-Rabbit on 2007 01 10 at 05:14 AM • permalinkNow, clearly I am not a muslim or a member of any other weird and ancient belief system.
However if I was one to believe in such incredibly promising stuff as “72 Virgins”, being a fairly normal and probably a bit selfish Australian- I WOULD PROBABLY KEEP IT TO MYSELF!
Why tell the world about this fantastic deal?
Why hire a hall to promote this “wonderful future”?
It is similar to the “so-called” financial expert who rings you up with “investment opportunities”, but you find he does not even own his own home, but lives in a bedsitter!

YIPPEE!!
This little beautyis my magisterially authorised culturally-approved weapon, and I have 3 siblings with 11 kids between us, and 14 cousins, who add another 43 kids between ‘em, which makes our clan’s cultural weapon a full battery of 4.5’s, and everyone gets a bonus .303 SMLE!! I suppose the oldies can use Webleys.
You little ripper. Hey, Mohammad, go get your camel, spear, shield and sword sunshine, and let’s go play a game called “clan warfare”.

Canberra#22- that ‘smell of victory in the air’ would be the musky scent of ‘Hesbolah 69’

In this example, an Arab group known as MAS is creating a rift in the community to squeeze concessions from the kuffir.
The common thread is that this is happening in every Western country. France? Pork soup, recently. England? Halal meals to students, recently.
I am NOT into global conspiracies but I do see a concerted effort that transcends national borders. It is almost like they are all reading from the same text….
/paranoid Canadian mode off
Heres how the whingers in jail should be treated whith regaurds to halal meals. From gates of vienna.
Should apply to all meals all the time.

Come, come now. As any professor of ethnic or gender studies can explain, violence committed by the politically fashionable is always excused as a reaction to injustice, and that violence committed by oppressor groups is inappropriate, disproportionate, spreads hate and can only perpetuate the cycle of violence.

Before you get to excited:
Australians can only culturally carry a No.I Mk III .303 if it was manufactured at Lithgow. OK! The Police will be checking this so don’t try and get smart and substitute anything from BSA.
For culturally sensitive Australian women an Owen SMG is suggested. Its lighter and fits in a handbag if you detach the butt stock (or are lucky enough to own a folder).
#14 you can only carry a 25 pounder if the barrel was made by ADI, the breach block by Chubb and the carriage by General Motors at Fishermens Bend. I’m still trying to find out what the rules are on a limber to suit.
As an aside you can also only carry a light horsemans sword if you have a handle bar moustache and attend tent-pegging session atleast once a month. Ownership of a suitable horse is not negotiable.
So many complexities to these new “Cultural Carry” laws!
Thank God I’m American. I can culturally carry ANYTHING!
Posted by richard mcenroe on 2007 01 10 at 09:18 PM • permalinkHizb-ut-Tahrir are very careful on their web site and articles. They declare all current governments in the world illegitimate, and say all muslims must overthrow these governments (including Saudi, Iran, Australia) and replace them with a caliphate, but they dont seem to have any suggestions on how muslims should do the overthrowing. They do say it’s a serious sin not to work hard to establish the caliphate.
So the message the reader gets is, if you’re a muslim you must work hard to establish the caliphate, and they won’t fuss on the techniques.
Similarly they claim that the bombong of the sammara mosque was the work of the US and call for all iraqis to resist the “American Occupation”, declare it a crime to cooperate with the US or the Iraqi government but don’t explicitly call for violence, but neither do they say not to be violent.
If they were truely non-violent, they would include anti-violence comments in their material. Instead they make arguments that will provoke people to violence, and will encourage violence, but leave the violence up the audience.
No doubt, as for last August’s meeting, they will find a new venue, add cancellation of their deceptive booking to the list of evils of the current Australian order, and encourage all attendees to overthrow the Australian government. Unbalanced extremists will go to the conference, be encouraged, and start organising their own violence.
