MAN OF PRINCIPLE

Tim Lambert stands up for the right to ban:

I appreciate that many commenters here (where incivility is encouraged) might not care for my comment policy, but I will continue to run my blog the way I see fit.

Good for him.

  1. Mutton dressed as Lambert. Funny how these freedom-loving leftists don’t actually care much for freedom of expression by anyone who disagrees with their daft and proven incorrect beliefs.

  3. Ahhh… the same Tim Lambert who complained about being banned here and the tried to make an (illegal?) copy of Tim Blairs site?

Well, let’s be charitable and assume he has simply seen the light and reached an improved understanding of sensible blog administration. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

  10. It’d be great to think you could run a site like this or Tim Lambert’s with no need to vet or ban people but the potential for total disruption is just too great. Still sensibly expressed counterpoints should always be welcome.

Mind you, I think I always express calm counterpoints at dinner parties but it doesn’t stop me getting frozen out by lefties on the odd occasion.

  11. Colossally clumsy comment by local abc presenter interviewing author (also muslim lawyer) about fiction book “does my head look big in this?”.There was talk of the teenage life of this woman and of a character in her story. The girl’s name is Amal and she tells of the first time she wore the hijab to school and how sick of being asked questions about the lifestyle she was. Abc Presenter describing her plight- “she got so sick of being asked, that one day she just exploded”.

  12. Banning comment is identical to censorship - unless it is ad hominems etc and then one might have a case.

I no longer bother with his site, though friends do (steel hearted types and brave) do let me know when I have been Lambertised.

I would usually allow the facts to counter specious arguments but have lately discovered that even if the facts are of the totally overwhelming kind, this has no effect on the debate.

There is no point in arguing with the religious though they are, I have discovered, especially the climate changers, easily profaned with the slightest query of their liturgy.

  15. Back to the topic on hand, which is Lambert’s post.

Lambert was toasted on the Climate Audit website. Lambert is very quick to impugn the motives of others, criticise them for not having good enough credentials (according to Lambert) whenever someone’s opinion differs from his own. He had the temerity to accuse someone with degrees from Harvard and MIT as not being a reputable academic (according to a post at Climate Audit). Posters asked if Lambert’s degrees and expertise afford him the podium to throw at s.... at others.

Lambert’s recent post is a call for sympathy from his sycophantic audience to share his pain for being criticised. Mr. Popularity got all of 5 posts with one asking what was the purpose of the post. I will answer that. The purpose was to have a public cry. This p.... attempts to savage anyone in his wake, but is unable to take it himself. What a creep! I hope Lambert isn’t typical of the faculty where he teaches.
Climate Audit is doing a very good job at exposing shoddy and sometimes deceitful studies in climate science. Lambert supports the shoddy work because these studies favour his own far left ideological angry left views.

Lambert is a sook and and a far leftist pretending otherwise.

‘she just exploded’ - yowch (grimace), inadvertent black humour - the worst kind.

    While we’re OT:
Attractive muslim couple on Denton tonight. ‘We just want to buy a house and live like Australians’ ... ‘Want my kids to go to school with typical Aussie kids’ ... ‘I hate it when extremists say outrageous things’ ... ‘I don’t want to have to answer for them to my Aussie workmates’ - all good stuff, I’m thinking on ya’ guys, you’re OK, you can live in my street.

Then the wife comes out with something like ‘so why is George Bush bombing our children and pillaging the Iraqi oil’, and I’m thinking ‘for crying out loud, you were so close! You nearly had me!’

(...at least she didn’t blame the Jews - but who knows, she may have - I switched off in disgust...)

  21. I’m very interested to see police statistics because (going by reports in France and US) while the Muslim communtiy has been playing up racist attacks, many of them were never reported or were not racist at all (reporting robberies as racist etc.)while attacks against Jews have been doubled and most were perpetrated by Muslims as opposed to the usual extreme right.

o.t.African gang rape horror hits u.k.
A violent South African crime known as jack rolling has arrived in Britain.
Police in Northampton have warned women not to go out alone at night after 5 attacks in 9 days by members of a gang who cruise the town centre in two cars.
It became notorious in the 90s in s.a. when gangs of youths in cars blocked off streets and raped women caught in their net.In Northampton, three women have been grabbed from the street and raped since July 31.The latest (30 yr old) victim was found with head injuries early on Monday.A blue bmw and a silver fiat punto were involved in three of the incidents. The three men involved in the incidents were black and spoke with south african accents according to police.
Tracking down the CARS remained the primary focus of the investigation, rather than pinning down the RAPISTS’ NATIONALITIES.

Anyone see Rright Wing Watch this evening. The mindless drivel RRW does these days is an embarrassment even to the left. The joke is that this defence of “poor little Muslims” is not resonating with the public any longer.

  25. Crash,
The solution to jack rolling is “concealed carry”.  That is, if some scum try to rape a woman she pulls out her .32 and plugs them through their heads.  But the British government has determined that Britons are too immature to be allowed to defend themselves, poor babies.  Given the recent track record of the Brit police, it’s likely they’ll never find the perps but shoot a woman five times in the head thinking she was a member of the gang.
