LONE VOICES HEARD
One-person protests rated as newsworthy in Australia and the UK.
UPDATE. Dan Lewis presents the Interactive Aussie Moonbat Protest Sign Generator.
UPDATE II. Solo David Hicks supporter Margaret Cavalieri is allowed her say in the Age.
UPDATE III. Dennis Sparrow, grandfather of the two children Hicks left behind, has his say in the Daily Telegraph:
“He didn’t care about the kids before he left, he f….d off on them then and now all of a sudden it’s all about him missing his kids,” Mr Sparrow said at his home ...
“Dave and his lawyers think it will help his case if he wheels the kids out - well f… them.”
Mr Sparrow said his grandchildren had been forced to live with the shame of having one of Australia’s most notorious men as a father and were repeatedly taunted at school.
“If he gets out and wants to see the kids he has to come and see me first,” he said.
“He didn’t care about them enough to stay around so I don’t want to hear all this crap about him missing them now.”
Sounds like the story about the protests on the 5 year anniversay of Hick’s incarcaration on the ABC. The cameras were very tightly focussed on the ‘crowd’ to make it appear larger than it actually was. In spite of this, it was still obvious there were only about 30 people there.

Or something . . .
Posted by Spiny Norman on 2007 01 14 at 12:50 AM • permalinkOK, there’s always the local crackpot angle . . .

*evil snigger*
Posted by Pedro the Ignorant on 2007 01 14 at 01:20 AM • permalinkI read where Hick’s wife and children do not want anything to do with this tool. I think it was his father-in-law, who said that he would have to get past him before he goes near his daughter and grandchildren. So that hideous clown in Port Fairy, looks to be a bigger toolett, than the rat in gitmo.
the woman’s clearly deluded- he cost the yanks a thousand bucks- plus upkeep
Posted by eeniemeenie on 2007 01 14 at 01:40 AM • permalink*Decides not to mention that he occasionally winds up protesting alone…*
I think I’ll just suggest reading King and Twain on Majorities and Mobs…
Posted by richard mcenroe on 2007 01 14 at 01:42 AM • permalinkwhat are the chances of even just one person from any of our right on progressive anti racist groups turning up at sydney airport to protest the return of sheik hilali?
Posted by eeniemeenie on 2007 01 14 at 01:51 AM • permalinkYesterday, Mrs Cavalieri said she was glad Standard readers had been moved to vote.
She said the result of the survey was not as important as thrusting the issue on the agenda of south-west residents.
The voice of the voters ain’t as important as her nagging, apparently.
Posted by AlburyShifton on 2007 01 14 at 02:02 AM • permalinkWe once had the ABC send a media team to port Hedland (about 2,500km) from Perth to cover a protest by about 25-30 “free ta refugees” rent a mob.
The modern news cycle falls right into the hands of ratbag mobs.
Slow news day=nationwide coverage.Posted by thefrollickingmole on 2007 01 14 at 02:20 AM • permalinkFree David Hicks…figurine with every McMohammed Unhappy Meal

Save it to your hard drive and then upload it to a free image hosting service such as:
http://www.imageshack.us - then post the resultant URL here.#28rebase. Of course, you are correct. What I was alluding to, was that this little scum weasel went and joined an outfit, leaving his children and their mother, to join an outfit hostile to our way of life. Yet, some sections of the media play the ‘victim angle’ and you get loons like the ‘Port Fairy Princess’, trying to engender sympathy for this traitorous rodent. Still, the left are so devoid of ideas, they have to grab ‘global warmening’, and the ‘Hicks cause’, just to be relevent. I think the Howard Government has spent too much time and money on it now, as it is.
If his family don’t want him, we certainly don’t.I just realised, if a single weirdo holding a sign warrants major media coverage, there’s a whole lot of weird homeless dudes in Sydney who should be on the front page of the newspaper.
It reminds me of the good old days of No Thappy John. Whatever happened to Margo?
Curse you, Dan Lewis, and your infernal Interactive Aussie Moonbat Protest Sign Generator. I will have designed and posted a hundred of these damned images by midnight…
What would a moonbat parade be without references to Ant or oil and joooos?
Oh Lordy, thank you Dan Lewis (#22).
I am full of singing syrup after waching the Aussies burn bash and bury the Kiwis at the ODI and am totally incapable of Photoshopping anything at the moment, but that site and the Blairite’s submissions are outstanding.
God, I love this irreverent and hilarious website, Amen.
Posted by Pedro the Ignorant on 2007 01 14 at 07:45 AM • permalinkYeah, real brave, just like the article said.
Now, if she’d show up at the Hajj in Mecca with a great big Christian cross or proudly displayed Star of David and loudly denounce all blasphemers against either of those religions are dupes of a false prophet…that’d be brave.
Short lived, foolish, but pretty damn brave.
thanks dan lewis- cool program- here’s some of my attempts: lost and

I did a “Barack Obama is a poofter” sign and laughed myself asleep
Posted by Jack from Montreal on 2007 01 14 at 08:56 AM • permalinkport fairy used to be a little jewel of a town with lovely cottages & cheap steaks & lobsters. then the folk festival attracted a bunch of tree changers who took it over & turned it into an enclave of latte sipping lefties & hippie moonbats like poor old marg, she of the bad hair, unfortunate complexion & even more unfortunate veneration for traitors. now it’s $250 a night to stay in someone’s old shed & no lobsters for love or money. a triumph of market forces, however

Knock yourself out. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the:
Interactive Aussie Moonbat Protest Sign Generator. Hours of fun.Hah! And just think Paco Industries has been selling hundreds of moonbat sign printers at $599.99 a crack. paco will not like this. Beware when neocon globalist capitalist robber barons get angry at the introduction of new competition.
But for me, I say it again. Hah! at paco’s expense.

Any relation to the Leftwrites Sparrows?
Talk about a family madness…Posted by SwinishCapitalist on 2007 01 14 at 12:42 PM • permalinkPort Fairy? Shouldn’t that be Very Small Port? How insensitive!
Posted by richard mcenroe on 2007 01 14 at 01:14 PM • permalinkPort Fairy is also the preferred shagging venue of the mutton bird. Colonies of this amazing bird do a 15,000 lap of the Pacific every year before arriving at the Port—always within a couple of days of September 23—and immediately set about expanding the family. Thousands fly in at the same time and have been known to black out the setting sun. Foxes and stray dogs have been cutting a swathe through their numbers this summer and I came across at least a dozen beheaded carcasses last weekend beside the South Beach road. God knows how many corpses were in the sand dunes.
All the old hippies that have swarmed on Port Fairy in recent years could well have been inspired by the mutton bird. It is ugly, smelly, shags itself senseless over summer, is fancied by ferals and buggers off north when the weather turns cold.[url=“http://www.signgenerator.net/?allow=976&text=International+

“Port Fairy woman”—that’s a woman?
To say nothing of the name of the town.
