  1. Aieee, a talking cat! Is there no end to the outrage sent in our direction? Hummus contains 4 of the letters contained in the prophets name. Quick brothers, hand me that flame.

  2. I love Islamists.

It’s true. If it wasn’t for those wacky “Kill the infidel cartoonist” types, the quiet, mass child-bearing, smooth-talking “convert to Islam” types would probably have eventually overcome the self-loathing west.

Militant Islam is the greatest gift Islam has extended to the west. It will, all by itself, guarantee our continued existence.

  3. I liked where Ahmadinejad has banned Gabriel Faure’s chamber music, as pretty high on the unintentional humor scale, Western Music division, http://rhhardin.home.mindspring.com/faure.ram being an example of this disrespectful music that threatens the souls of Muslims.

  4. Two of these cartoons feature dogs.  Dogs are unclean to Muslims and these artists must seek mercy from a Shari court for provoking Muslims.

  5. aaarrrgggghhhhh media watch is now fronted by monica attard, aka moontard fan of gore vidal, who even has the same lip-curl tic as crean & beazley, plus a gap in her front teeth you could drive a hummer through.  and has just referred to extremists on both sides in discussing the mohtoons.  good advertising for tim though

    You’re on Media Watch!

Not bad either.  I think I’m beginning to like Monica

  7. Eh, media watch wasn’t as good as last years articles, it was all ‘scientific fact’ and ‘blame the feds’ - it wasn’t actually really a criticism of media at all. Even the cartoon references went without a real position or straight-out criticism.

Anyway, as for this post: I think these cartoons are a much better way of criticising some more, shall we say, questionable aspects of islam without just infuriating people (hopefully).

  9. “Militant Islam is the greatest gift Islam has extended to the west”.

Over the past 105 years, 1.4 billion Muslims have produced eight Nobel Laureates while a mere 14 million Jews have produced 167 Nobel Laureates. Of the 1.4 billion Muslims less than 300,000 qualify as ‘scientists’, and that converts to a ratio of 230 scientists per one million Muslims. The United States of America has 1.1 million scientists (4,099 per million); Japan has 700,000 (5,095 per million).
Yes I Know the Joos run the Nobel prize awards and who needs science when you have sharia.

Of the 1.4 billion Muslims 800 million are illiterate (6 out of 10 Muslims cannot read). In Christendom, adult literacy rate stands at 78 percent BUT THEY SURE CAN EAD CARTOONS!

  11. “Militant Islam is the greatest gift Islam has extended to the west”.

    I think it’s a fair statement.

Pericles of Athens once said that he didn’t worry about what the enemy Spartans did. It was the mistakes he and his fellow Athenians might make that troubled him no end.

Islam, I strongly believe, would have overcome a large percentage of the west (mainly in Europe), had the Jihadists not become impatient, and demanded it all now.

Now Europe has a slim chance of self-preservation.

  12. Lets look at Media Watch’s season’s kick-off effort, with months of juicy material available over its extended time off.

Lead story:  About a ‘message in a bottle’ hoax perpetrated by a Pom YEARS ago.  Current m-i-a-b story mentioned, but no media transgressions noted.  WTF is MW doing with this?

Story 2:  About a police stuff up, putting informant’s names on a Search Warrant and thus exposing them to the media.  No media transgressions demonstrated, just a complaint by one of those identified.  This issue was aired by programs that are supposed to deal with this type of thing, months ago.  Again,WTF is MW doing here?

Story 3:  Oh, they just manage to squeeze in a story about the biggest media/morals story around the globe for YEARS.  Those cartoons.  How touching to see MW click their heels and kowtow to Management’s directive re “no cartoons”.  How convenient, when they have previously gone out of their way to put on their web site cartoons pulled by other media outlets for being “offensive”.

So, lets score what our taxes have coughed up:
    Relevance 0/10
    Topicality 0/10
    Coardice 10/10
    Hypocrisy 10/10
    Monica’s teeth 0000 0000

  15. From watching Media Watch I could only come to two conclusions:

    1. Media Watch believes that those who think we should publish these cartoons are morally equivalent to those that encourage and foster violence against Western interests for publishing these cartoons. It’s not hard to come to that conlusio

    2. Media Watch believes that the potential for violence is a good enough reason not to publish something that is otherwise legitimate.

That either of those positions could come from Media Watch is jaw-dropping.

  17. Sorry I posted on the wrong thread, so I post again:
I quote the French daily “Le Monde” The Australian caricaturist Michael Leumig has sent the first caricature about the Holocaust to be published in the Iranian daily Hamshahri.
Leumig hopes that “This caricature will show the hypocrisy of the Occident facing freedom of expression”.

  21. I can read bugger all, most of my fwench being picked up perusing certain “art” magazines found in less salubrious establishments around town.
However it appears loopig has now become a moral black hole. Any links to his sublime bit of wit involving ducks, gaffa tape, and a large appendaged gentleman???
Thanks for the heads up, obviously he wants to wallow in “poor persecuted me” and claim his free speech is being oppressed.
Sorry but posting anti semetic cartoons for a cash reward in an islamic theocracy is about as deluded as it is possible to get. Only one bright spot he might have to go there to pick up the prize.

  22. #18 love the way they call ahmadinejad an unltr-conservative instead of a raving nutbag radical islamist would-be wiper of israel from the face of the planet

love the way leunig has missed the point of the competition too - it’s meant to be about the holocaust (with a denial flavour), not about iraq etc.  he’s pricelessly dim - or maybe make that dhimmi-dim

  24. Leunig:
    Still from “Le Monde”
This is a series of two drawings. The first one, titled “Auschwitz 1942” shows a Jew, wearing the Star of David and a bag, entering a concentration camp trough a gate with the inscription “Work sets you free”. The other drawing titled “Israel 2002, shows the same man walking through a gate leading to what seems to be a battlefield with the inscription “War brings peace”.

  26. Mediawatch appears to have contracted the dreaded Bottlulism toxin.. and I find Monica intriguing -that cheeky little soupcon (cedilla) of a moustache she twirled insouciantly in a brave “upyours”  gesture of defiance.
The smouldering upward glance as she parroted the commercials -“we felt it unnecessary to expose our staff to danger-we played it safe” and the gritty clincher
    “as did weeeee”.
She looks a lot like Bazza Jones y’know.
Reckon she might be a goer on that crook quizz show, add a bit of gravitass.

  28. well done Timmy b ! good articles and fearless dispersal of information ! I saw Pauline Hanson on telly a couple of days ago saying basically my sentiments, “if they don’t like it here, they can leave” ! Simple really. Why they should think they’re doing us a favour by staying here is beyond me, aliens that they are. I wonder if the aboriginals felt that way about us too all those years ago ? Still, if the violent troublemakers were all sent to another planet, possibly and hopefully they would just kill each other. Anyone got a spare planet ?.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

One of the “Muslim” laureates is author/essayist Albert Camus, who is so identified because he was born in Algeria, although I’m not aware he was ever a practicing Muslim (or may even have been an atheist).
