LIFE SUSTAINED

Excuse me, but shouldn’t a Sustainable Living Champion be slightly older than 15? I vote for Olive Riley, who has sustained life for 108 years.

  2. My vote goes to the kid. He has lived 15 years consuming nothing but his own farts. Now that’s impressive.

  4. I’ve visited Olive’s before. She’s great.
    Think about all the amazing things she’s seen happen in her life.
    I’d hazard a guess that although many a teen feels they know everything already, Olive’s probably got all the answers!

    I talked with my Grandmother about this type of thing when she was in her early 90s (she died peacefully on the sofa at about 7-ish on 23 January 2003, aged 93! She’d have been 99 on 3/8/08). She told me about the Harbour Bridge being built, and “so many wonderful things” which happened in her lifetime. Mum took her overseas a few times when she was in her 80s.

  5. Quick ‘Fact Check’, everyone:

    Olive is a hard-core Socialist who still sings along to ‘The Red Flag’ and believes that Unions are great for the working man. 

    There’s no merit in living to be 100 if your basic life philosophy involves supporting the worst, most murderous ideology of the 20th Century.

    Would be be praising Stalin if he turned 100?
