LIFE PUT ONLINE
The SMH’s Mark Coultan is deeply afeared o’ Rupe:
Rupert Murdoch has announced his intention to dominate the internet the way he dominates newspapers in Australia, and traditional media around the world.
Having recently bought MySpace.com, which he describes as a place “where people put their lives online”, News Corp now has 50 million people visiting its websites.
Fairfax, owners of the SMH and The Age, recently purchased a site where people are also invited to put their lives online. Hit the link, go to search, look for “WeeWizard”, and you might locate someone who possibly resembles Age editor Andrew Jaspan.
...but I don’t think it’s possible for anybody to dominate the Internet.
Then why does the United Nations keep on trying to take direct control of the domain registry?
Rupert ain’t the worry here, folks!!

They can’t steal it or root it, what’s the point?Posted by Pedro the Ignorant on 2005 08 13 at 11:05 AM • permalinkIt’s the greatest source of “theft” (music downloading, among other things) and “pr0n” (wall to wall webcam sluts with Amazon wishlists) in the world, Pedro :p

Sweet mother of pearl, why would anybody go looking for that jackass?
Cheers to Rupert, but I don’t think it’s possible for anybody to dominate the Internet.
