LEFTIES ALL SOUND THE SAME
The NYT’s David Brooks on Osama’s latest message:
You read this thing, and it’s like he’s been sitting around reading lefty blogs, and he’s one of these childish people posting rants at the bottom the page, you know, Noam Chomsky and all this stuff.
You can’t help read it and not laugh at it, occasionally, because it is just absurd. It’s flying this way, and that way, weird conspiracy theories, and mortgages, global warming. He throws it all in there.
Actually, given how extensive and incoherent is Osama’s list of grievances, it’s more like he’s been writing a lefty blog.

I say we take them on… and show how their policies have made bin Laden a hero and a big business. And maybe challenge them on why we haven’t gotten bin Laden… because a dead bin Laden is bad for Halliburton’s business.
David Brooks is right. OBL does sound like a lefty blog, just like the lefty blog quoted. Only it’s not funny, not even in a black humour sort of way, it’s just tragic.

The crudity of the propaganda coming out of the caves ought to offer nothing but giggles and knee-slaps, but the views of too many on the left are indistinguishable from the cave drawings.
As an aside: The fact that we have so many in the population whose rational faculty has been incapacitated, makes an argument for suing the government schools. Since that would mean suing ourselves as tax payers, I suggest we just shut them down and throw education into the market, where it belongs. There is damned little that could be worse that what we are supporting right now. Only fools pay people to destroy their lives—and the lives of the children put in their care. Could they get away with it if it were not for government force?

It’s pretty clear he’s out of touch even with them, because what self-loathing, rage-filled young potential killer wants to align himself with a rambling old man in a fake clown beard?
I still think it’s a ringer anyway, and Osama is pushing up poppies in Dungheapistan.

It probably IS a fake: old video with a new audio track… and it probably isn’t even Osama’s voice, but an imposter. Possibly a son, who’d sound very much like him without even trying to.
Those guys are likely correct, but not the way they think they are.

I thought he was pushing up daisycutters after Tora Bora when he didn’t show up for three years, since I judged his vanity too gigantic to resist showing off that long. Turned out I was wrong.
I think getting Zawahiri may be more important, except in a symbolic way. Zawahiri is, I think, the brains of the outfit. He’s Jeeves to Osama’s Bertie Wooster.
If I was a leftard the similarity between my tallking points and Osama’s would disturb me, especially if I was a Democrat running for office in the USA in 2008. What if the Republicans just put on an ad comparing my views with Osama’s? The only difference is his call to convert to Islam. Bad juju.
