KING ‘CONG MASTERS FIRE

Fakey ‘Nam vet Ward Reilly—dressed, as usual, in his favoured ‘Nam vet chic despite serving in VC-free Augsburg, Germany—helps out at Camp Cindy, Crawford, TX.

Note the 9/11 conspiracy sign. And then, filled with righteous anti-Bush rage, sign John Kerry’s latest petition!

UPDATE. Deborah Daniels Davitt—widow of Capt. A. M. Davitt, USMC, HMM-362, died in 1983 following service in Vietnam—invites any readers nearby Louisiana State to attend a Reilly speech at LSU in September. “As my Uncle left his $$$ to LSU to endow a number of professorships,” Deborah writes, “I guess I have a right to be there.” Contact Deborah, who is long aware of Reilly’s fakery, here.

UPDATE II. Capt. Davitt’s death was earlier dated as 1968; now corrected.

  1. Whoa! In the caption under the linked photo, Reilly is described as one of the Ditch Madonna’s “counsel”. Is he a fake lawyer, too? In fact, I’m not sure the guy in the picture really is Reilly. Maybe he’s a substitute Vietnam-era non-combat veteran.

  3. Don’t worry! Amy Goodman of Demoncracy Now has hit the beach at Camp Cincy and the situation if well in hand. I saw here on FSTV last night.  She interviewed a Navy verteran of the invasion of Iraq no less.  He was crying about the fact that he had a Humvee with no armor and not enough ammunition to protect himself.  She mumbled something about him being in the Navy and with the Marines in the invasion.  Hmm

So lets see here.  A Navy guy.  Probably not a SEAL, just a guess on my part.  That probably means he was one of those people that Castro defines as a “doctor”.  Armed corpsman?  Must be a new concept by the evil Bushitler people I guess.  Better way to kill all of those innocent civilians, which he saw plenty of, I guess.

  4. Went to their website. Yuuck!

    “A Navy Officer”

“Charlie Anderson.  Petty Officer 2nd Class, U.S. Navy, assigned to the second marine division, second tank battalion 5th regimental combat team”  Lack of caps are theirs not mine.

“I want to know why I was sent into an unnecessary war without body armour in be a unarmoured Humvee.  I want to know why there wasn’t even enough ammuniton for me to protect myself.”

That’s from their transcript of 08-19-2005.

  5. “I want to know why there wasn’t even enough ammuniton for me to protect myself.”

Funny, if a civilian were to make the argument that he needs a gun and plenty of ammo in order to protect himself, the Left would be screaming in protest.

  6. I want to know why I was sent into an unnecessary war without body armour in an unarmoured Humvee

Um, because Humvees aren’t designed to be armored?

However, there do need to be questions asked about why we are not procuring proven, low-tech armored cars (Cadillac-Gage or any number of excellent British designs) now that our military focus has shifted from defense against massive Russian assault, to police actions.

(Forgive my sense of humor in suggesting we might procure excellent, proven British designs. Ha, ha! Not Invented Here!)

  7. Those Humvees are Clinton purchases for the most part.  Bush went to war with the same assumptions that were extant in the Clinton Administration when they were purchased.  Don’t need heavy armour on those.  I’m sure the Clinton generals were just as shocked as the Bush people although they won’t admit it.

  8. I didn’t sign Senator Lurch’s petition.  They would just kill my comments and use it to boost their numbers.  I am thinking of writing a real, live letter to the Beloved War Hero, though, asking—- no, begging for the love of God—- him to STFU and go back to windsurfing, for the good of the country.

  9. Our SAS soldiers drive Land Rover Defenders and they don’t even have a roof. I think Tim called the Justice Wagons in a post a few years back. They look way too cool and pretty to shoot at and they inspire that last glimmer of humanity in insurgents:

“Wait Iqbal! Don’t shoot now, you might scratch the Landy! Wait for a Hummvee. Or even better still one of those UN GXLs”

Excellent point. I understand the “insurgents” rig between 2 - 5 artillery shells together and remote detonate them. I understand even M1A2 Main Battle Tanks have been destroyed by these IEDs.  Question is if they can kill a tank what chance does an armoured car have? It would make it more of a challenge but not impossible.

  11. I seem to recallthe Zimbabwe ( when it was rohdesia) forces had a lot of trouble with mines. In effect they designed a wreckable vehicle which basicly only protected the crew compartment. As I remember the actual chassis was a modified VW or something similar.
Seems better value than armoring everything

  19. Ward’s got a potty mouth, doesn’t he? I think I’d have had him on perpetual latrine duty if he were in my unit.

Given the “quality news” on Ward’s site, you’d think our folks on the ground couldn’t find their asses with both hands.

Personally, I prefer better and accurate news, such as Chrenkoff’s “Good News From Iraq”

    Link -> Chrenkoff

or REAL information about what’s happening from folks on the ground like Michael Yon

    Great links, thank you!

Ah, WR’s probably working as an imbed now, with the Iraqi insurgents.
