IRA NOW OFFERING TO KILL OWN MEMBERS
That upstart J.F. Beck has only been in the blogging game for five minutes and he’s already getting written up by The Guardian:
It is Bolton’s contemptuous attitude towards international treaties and multilateral organisations that wins favour with the right. The RWDB blog quotes approvingly from a Right Web profile that calls Bolton a “treaty killer” and believes he is the right man for the job.
Speaking of contemptuous international attitudes and The Guardian, how did that Operation Clark County work out? Is John Kerry president yet? Also in The Guardian, weird IRA news:
The IRA offered to shoot the men involved in the murder of Robert McCartney but his family refused the use of violence, republicans said last night.
In a five-page statement, the IRA gave its most detailed account yet of Mr McCartney’s brutal murder saying four men were behind the killing, two of whom were its members …
That the IRA felt forced to make such a macabre offer shows the pressure they feel within their own communities, which they effectively police, and where there has sometimes been tacit support of punishment beatings of local criminals.
The folly is equally obvious when one considers that the IRA is offering to kill its own people who killed a man who conflicted with the IRA somehow, presumably on orders, or at least knowledge of the IRA leadership. Talk about conflicts of interest!
If I were a member of the IRA, I’d be looking over my shoulder for the IRA leadership trying to stab me in the back.

That’s the same Martin McGuinness who was education minister in the Northern Ireland assembly before its recent disbandment.
"OK. we executed the murderers...”
“Oh, wait, we found some new suspects...”
“OK, we executed the murderers...”
“This guy here seems suspicious… (How long do you think we can make the sods keep this up?)”

He says that like it’s a bad thing.Honey, that’s not a bug, that’s a feature! :-D

Posted by richard mcenroe on 2005 03 09 at 09:57 PM • permalinkSo why is Fisk still wasting oxygen? Geez, if you can’t rely of fascistic murdering terrorists to kill the people they target who can you rely on?
Note the mafia-type logic of the IRA. “Some guys killed your brother so we’ll kill them, and everything will be square again, right?” Is that the sort of “law” the Irish want to live under?

What could more clearly show the folly of including the IRA in the political process in Northern Ireland without requiring it to disarm?
