INEXPLICABLE SCHEDULE CHANGE

Reader zscore reports: “I note with amusement that SBS had scheduled the BBC’s “The Power of Nightmares” to start this week, which argues that the terrorist threat to Britain is mythical. It was shown in Britain earlier this year, and sounds like an extreme case of moonbattery.

“Suddenly SBS has pulled the series, and replaced it with WWII documentaries broadcast only a few weeks ago. I wonder why.”

Over to you, Media Watch. In other history-dodging news, the BBC has rewritten its initial July 7 reports:

The BBC has re-edited some of its coverage of the London Underground and bus bombings to avoid labelling the perpetrators as “terrorists”, it was disclosed yesterday.

Harry’s Place was on to the BBC’s scam first. And in history-ignoring news, Margo Kingston’s Webdiary—with its army of editors, contributors, drifters, sleepers, and gloomers—is yet to post a single item on the London attacks.

  1. In the past our politicians offered us dreams of a better world. Now they promise to protect us from nightmares. The most frightening of these is the threat of an international terror network. But just as the dreams were not true, neither are these nightmares.

What a relief to all the families of the missing in London—their family members are just on holiday!  The BBC says so!

  2.   “There is no terrorist threat. There is no terrorist threat. Yes, there have been horrific acts, of terrorism and yes there will be horrific acts again. But that does not mean that there’s some massive terrorist threat.”

Who should I beleive when I walk past the mosque?  The BBC or my own lying eyes?

  5. Here’s a quote from the program information for “Power of Nightmares” referring to neo-cons:

“They created a hidden network of evil run by the Soviet Union that only they could see.”

It almost leaves one speechless.  What world were the producers of the show living in during the 40 years after the end of World War II?  As far as I remember, not only could the neo-cons see the evil, so could the Poles, the Hungarians, the Czechoslovakians, the East Germans, the Estonians, Latvians and Lithuanians, the Ukriainians, the Afghans, the Armenians, the Georgians, the Jews, and hundreds of other groups and millions of other people.  It didn’t take a genius to analyze the Soviet Union.  It just took someone with their eyes slightly open to reality.

  6. It’s all fun and games, until somebody loses an eye.  Or their legs.  Or their life.  It’s going to take an Islamic bomb on their very doorstep for these idiots to admit they’re wrong.  And then they’ll still work the Jews and the Americans in.

  7. Speaking of schedule changes, ABC was supposed to show Reign of Fire, a not-bad flick about a dragon emerging from the London Underground and incinerating the earth. Here’s what a guest moonbat at IMDB had to say about the schedule change:

    Carlyle-Bush terrorists won again,...

There seem to be many connections
between the Bush klan & the
    Saudi klan, Bin Laden klan,...

So, they got “Reign of Fire (2002)” cancelled, replaced w/ “Big Fat Liar (2002)”,
    on Abc.

Evil Bu$hitler! He set off the London bombs to… to… to… force ABC to cancel its showing of a dragon flick with Christian Bale!

You have to admit, leftists make compelling arguments. Connect the dots, people!

Here’s a quote from me referring to the useful idiots at the BBC:

“The Soviet Union created an open network of evil that only boutique Bolsheviks of the West couldn’t see.”

Jeebus titty-fucking Cripes. Hungary? Czechoslovakia? The Gulags? I guess Sakharov and Solzhenitsyn were paranoid neo-cons, too.

  10. #7, Dave S., silly me!  And here I thought ABC canceled “Reign of Fire” because it would have been in bad taste to air it right on the heels of the London bombings.  Sheesh.  That Bush, he’s something, huh?

    IMHO of course.

  13. According to Melanie Phillips the BBC are rewritng the reported speeches of Tony Blair to excise the “T “word, which the PM himself has NO PROLEMS with!
And BBC star John Simpson is telling the viewers of the British Orwellian Cooperation that the Bombings were carried out by a few “misguided criminals” .

All this is regularly be picked up in AUstralia and echoed by BBC genuflectors, the colonial outposts of the ABC and SBS who doff their Caps to the publically and forcibly funded organisation that brainwashes the British public and willfully abets the war against Western Civilisation.

I’m surprised that SBS has pulled the latest “award winning”, brainwashing effort of the Beeb to convince us that all this terrorism is merely a FIGMWNT OF OUR IMAGINATION.  They could have used the NYT Dan Rather argument after all, to screen it.

That’s unconscionable. This self-anointed leader of truth-tellers (so called) claiming to “tell it like it is” very conveniently censors an unpalatable development by completely ignoring it - how irresponsible.

    I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, but I am.

  15. Yeah, good old Webdiary not discussing the bombings, who’d have thought? I am also surprised that a ‘people’s tribunal’ hasn’t been immmediately created to help Scotland Yard with their investigations.

  16. In a related demonstration of soldiarity with the victims of the London bombings, the BBC has scheduled a marathon broadcast day of Khartoum, Zulu Dawn and A Bridge Too Far…

  17. OH THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I was just about to send an email to SBS and give them some stick about this. These ARSEHOLES at SBS are simply unbelievable! What a hide they’ve got!
The rich, fat, bald, white men who make up the management of SBS endlessly screening documentaries which blame rich, fat, bald, white men for every conceivable problem in existence. They actually screened a “documentary” a couple of weeks ago which portrayed Fidel Castro as a hero of the masses and advocated a return to the…wait for it…the ‘values of the stoneage!’ So much for progressives ‘eh? Imagine all the Gays at SBS glorifying Castro while he mercilessly persecutes Gays in his own country!
And as for the documentary they replaced last night’s rubbish with, it’s a recent re-write of history (as you’d expect) which makes Eisenhower out to be a bungling idiot. Typical!

  18. I just emailed SBS about pulling the program and what I see as an attempt to only show the media as beacons of light and truth rather than the flawed companies and individuals that they are. Asked them to please put it on and leave it up to the viewing public to decide on the content of the show. Go on send them an email.

  20. I just received an email back from SBS which in part states:

The theme of this series is to explore how the idea that we are
threatened by a hidden and organised terrorist network is an illusion.

SBS Management made the decision that in light of the recent London
bombings it would not be appropriate to screen the series at this time.

At this stage it has not been given a transmission date, but it should
have one in the near future.

    Regards

  23. Oh, those mischievous madcaps (a/k/a/ terrorists). What will those scamps do next?

If you’re afraid to even name the enemy, then you might as well hang it up. Once the islamofascists and their anti-war allies in the media capture the language and succeed in framing the conflict in their own terms, then it’s more likely that Blair will be hanged from a lamp post by his own “misguided” citizens than that the terrorists will be defeated.

  24. Th funniest thing about sbs is that they are the only network to be attacked and beaten up by the very minority groups they are trying to advance- at least twice.

  25. So they’ll time their program about terrorism being an illusion so it’s not too close to the most recent terrorist attack.

    Good thinking.
