IDENTITY CRISIS

Several members of Sydney’s No Appearance Community are now also nameless:

Four men who attacked a man with a block of concrete in a post-Cronulla riot revenge attack pleaded guilty in the NSW District Court today to charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The men, two of whom are also facing trial over other riot-related incidents, have had their names suppressed by Judge Peter Berman ...

Police say the men drove to Cronulla seeking revenge after people of Middle Eastern appearance were targeted in race-fuelled violence last December 11.

  1. Seems fair enough to me given they’re facing other charges. Naming them would mean they could avoid a guilty verdict in the next trial. The fact that they’ve been in custody since they were arrested sends a signal that they’re probably less than savoury fellows.

  2. No, wait, let me guess…Ian and Nigel? Bubba and Billy-Bob? Pierre and Claude? Gee, this is tough.

  3. the public prosecutor accepted a plea for a lesser charge when there was enough evidence to convict them for the more serious charges.

they should let the jury decide not make politically motivated and corrupt back room deals.

  4. Better no-one knows people who allegedly attack others with concrete blocks.
    They might get hurt.

  7. <moonbat>Maybe their names actually were Nigel and Ian and the racist Howard appointee Judge wants to throw fuel on the fires of hatred for Muslims.  Islam is a religion of peace don’cha know.</moonbat>

...but they were probably named Mohammed.  The judge was a wimp.  The fires of hatred for Islam are fueled by Muslims.

  8. Butt-weasles. It seems to be that the media can bring themselves to utter the verboten ‘MOMEA’ only of course if they are able to slot in that they were the aggrieved party. If they were the aggressors, well…...

  10. And remember this court case only came about because the victim went public and demanded action

The police had been sitting on the CCTV footage for months - remember this?

Firstly there was no tape, then there was when this poor bloke who had his head bashed in went to the media and demanded action

I am willing to bet you could reach that conclusion from their appearance!

You said it, trainer. That’s the bottom line. It’s not like we don’t like ‘em for no reason. And yet Keelty & others bang on about fuelling racism etc. when it is the Muslim community that brings this shit on itself.

  18. That’s supposed to read “You couldn’t swing a dead cat in that jail cell and not HIT a Muhammed”.  On second thought, change that to “You couldn’t swing a cat eating uncovered meat in that jail cell and not hit a Muhammed.”

  22. Insight was worth a watch on SBS tonight.
    http://news.sbs.com.au/insight/topic.php?id=119

It was called “asking for it” and had kyser trad (so slimy slugs pour salt on him) and a bunch of others discussing the thick sheik and his comments.
I was impressed by a lady near the end who fair stuck it in to her own leaders for condoning or supporting the sheik.
Then there was this clanger from another thick sheik.
“JENNY BROCKIE: So, this connection between the way a woman dresses and the likelihood of rape is something you don’t agree with or do you see a connection, do you think women have a responsibility ... why do they have a responsibility to dress modestly?

SHEIKH MOHAMMED OMRAN: Well, this is part of our society. And we have the rape - I’m talking about the rape now - the rape is a problem in the society and we have to see how we can solve this problem, how we can fix this problem. Of course, it’s not only the man responsible for that, or only the woman responsible for that, all the society is responsible for that and we have to help each other in fixing this problem.”

Wrong stupid! It is allways the man to blame, the woman can be naive or stupid or provocative. But a sexual assault is the mans fault. If hes too dumb to take his wanking spanners and put them to good use then jail is the right place.

At the moment the transcript is only giving me one page, so it might be better to watch the video on demand there.

(BTW Howard derangement syndrome is alive and well)

Was it THE SHEIKH OMRAN on Insight -  the bloke from Melbourne who reckons Osama Bin Laden is a good guy? Like the really ugly one? Like the one linked to the 9/11 scumbags via contacts in Spain?

And he was allowed into SBS to speak? Could you see the ASIO minder somewhere in the background?

I missed it as I was at work

Ok, if they are juveniles, it’s ok to surpress the names, but then why call them “men”?

And isn’t the sort of unknown detention the left gets all up in arms about; Arabic men being held without their names being released?
