HOOK WHACKED

The London Sun reports:

Hook-handed Abu Hamza has been viciously attacked by a fellow jail inmate, it emerged last night.

The fanatical Muslim cleric, 47, was thumped inside London’s top-security Belmarsh prison, a jail source said.

And then this:

•  DID you whack Hook? If so call The Sun on 020 7782 4105. And by the way, WELL DONE!

The Sun’s emphasis. I read this aloud to a Bulletin colleague this afternoon; she was appalled, but still had to admire The Sun’s headline. Click the link to see.

  1. The British are lame.  Are you telling me not one British convict can work up a decent shank?

  2. Can’t say I like the tone of the Sun on this.  Am I a bleeding heart liberal for only wanting that Hook be securely locked up and not that he be beaten by fellow inmates while he’s there?

  3. Rexie - in this life, one only has a given amount of sympathy.  May I suggest you direct it to slaves in Niger, tsunami victims in Asia, abused kids everywhere or indeed virtually anyone besides this supporter of terrorism who apparently abuses the liberties of a free society to incite others to destroy it?

  4. What the fuck? Outrageous that The Sun sees fit to condone, let alone applaud this kind of behaviour.

Someone tell me its at least a joke.

  6. I hope he didn’t miss his weekly bath of pigs blood.

I hope the mans knuckles are OK and he wiped his hand afterwards.

  7. I too think this was beyond the pale.

I will allow my outrage to cease my chuckling in an hour or two.

  8. Richard McEnroe beat me to it.

I hate to sound like an arrogant American, but I can assure you our felons would have done a far more thorough job.  ;-p

As for those who are “appalled,” you’re welcome to take the terrorist bastard home to live with you.  At least save your sympathy for someone who actually deserves it.

  10. Hook deserves no sympathy and gets none from me, but we should still deplore the condoning of “felon’s justice”.

  12. I’m working hard on having sympathy.  I am.  But the niggling little though just won’t go away that Abu Hamza finally got a taste of the violent victimization he so loudly advocates for others.  How did it feel, Mr. Hamza?

  14. Abu Hamza has for too long gotten away with his hate speeches and though I deep down inside know that what happened to him is wrong, I just can’t feel sorry for him.

  15. Maybe we should feel sorry for the poor guy.  We could send him pictures of tilted sad faces while holding signs saying “I’m really really sorry”.

Gee whiz, two weeks of reading this blog and you guys are getting me to talk like you now.

  20. It’s hard to summon up a whole lot of sympathy when someone who calls for hatred and holy war suddnly gets his wish…

  21. Sounds like a case of what goes around comes around.

This bugger has been calling for extreme violence against us, up to and including killing of innocent people (merely infidels whose lives are of no value to him).

So I have little sympathy when he gets some of the violence he calls for aimed at him.

In this one case, ‘sympathy’ is a word in the dictionary in between ‘shit’ and ‘syphilis’.

  22. It’s important to remember that in Britain, we have a set formula for reading the Sun.

    Practicer after me.

(Bear in mind their best headlines are almost always on the front and back cover)

*Front page, page 3, back page, bin.*

The whole process takes around ten seconds.

  24. Well considering the things that nasty piece has said I don’t think anyone really has some sympathy for him. Rather amusing headline too.

  26. Hamza cries himself to sleep at nights, he has his heating switched off by the guards, he receives death threats, and he is living in fear. He is bullied by his inmates.
That small article wasn’t the whole article, the online article didnt cover what Hamza is going through. If you bought the newspaper on Monday then you’ll know and you’ll LOVE IT. It made the front page. A whack? pfft Thats not half as bad as the inmates AND GUARDS, believe it or not, are treating him.
Should the crook that attacked him be freed?
My opinion is Hamza should be executed, show him what the British REALLY think of him.
