HONOUR KILLING CONDEMNED

In January you mentioned a senior journalist from the Age, Karen Kissane, spouting the usual Ageisms about Muslims being the primary victims of racist incitement and violence.

Well, I heard Karen on Radio National’s “Life Matters” program on Monday 8th May, and she seemed to have undergone a road-from-Damascus conversion.

I almost fell out of my chair when she spoke with passionate outrage about a legal system that is excessively lenient to murderers while putting blame on the victim, about a jealous misogynistic man who murdered his wife in an honour killing, about the piss-weak “provocations” that the murderer claimed had caused him to lose all self-control and driven him into a murderous rage, about the suppression of evidence about the man’s history of violence, and about the failure to call murder by its name, resorting to inadequate euphemisms like “manslaughter”  to minimise the horror and culpability for the crime.

Mind you, this was an Anglo-Celtic male of non-Middle-Eastern appearance murdering his wife (of the same ethnicity and religion) in a prosperous suburb, so Karen’s outrage is totally understandable and permissible.

  3. Situational ethics.  It makes a difference which race you are and what your culture is.  Perhaps the better term would be situational racism. 

    I’ve seen a lot of situational racism.  It is a specialty of collectivists of every stripe and hue.

    People of her ilk just can’t imagine that these poor underdogs they so self-rightiously defend would dance with glee after cutting their heads off.  What kind of a dipshit roots for their own enemy?  Just step out in front of a truck and get it over with.
