  1. Julie Anthony was in The Sound of Music in 1963? Surely it was later than that - Who’s Who says she was only 14 at the time. And where’s the dragon?

  2. Call yourself a tappethead? The 48/215 is often mistakenly called the FX, not FJ, and is as incorrect as the other FX Holden that wisps around the blogosphere. Get a better editor.

  3. And the Holden Hurricane was not just a stylist’s dream, but actually ran.  The first appearance of the 253 V8, with rear view TV, seats on jacks to make ingress and egress easy, and the technological dead end of liquid cooled brakes.

  4. Both the Cosworth Sierra and Cosworth XR3 escort had liquid cooled brakes- they had a water tank on the opposite side to the fuel tank, and had a spray setup on the intercooler for the turbos and the front brakes. Thet make a GTS-R Commodore look like a Trabant.

  5. But the Hurricane actually had sealed brake housings with effectively a multi-plate clutch running in oil, with a separate radiator - rather than the “ghetto” option of spraying water at them (or driving through puddles).
