HAMADAM CELEBRATED
The Daily Telegraph‘s Craig Herbert in Madrid, during his pilgrimage to the Museum of Ham:

Inset: ham.
I’ve been there, what a cool shop! And I don’t even eat the stuff!
And it’s in Spain…
Sorry, is my wistfulness showing again?

On his world tour of gastronomical delights, Mr. Herbert might want to drop by this place and do some research. Frankly, I’d love to be the curator of either museum.
O/T, but too good not to link. Friend and commenter Captain Heinrichs sent me this.
And Powerline has the latest exhibition of Dennis Kucinich casting spells. His motivation? Maybe just because he’s a left-wing moron. Or maybe that red-headed specimen of feminine pulchritude he’s married to promised him something “special” if he’d man-up and diss Cheney (“Look, honey! I’ve got some new ♪ manacles ♪ !!”).
#29 The lack of legislative responsibility and flagrant disregard for providing the services they were hired to perform is what SHOULD be brought forward at these clowns’ dismissal hearings. Kick them to the curb and garnish their wages at whatever Walmart they’re fortunate enough to find employment. With these string of ridiculous bills, proposals and accusations, I’d be shocked if it turns out that any of them actually meet the minimum requirements to even work at Walmart (let alone Congress).
I’ve also been to the Museo del Jamon, which is a truly awesome place, but you have to understand that Madrid is full of these little ham shops, each one featuring ceilings festooned with these huge ham hocks hanging there like edible stalctites. I love the little upside-down umbrella stuck in the bottom that’s meant to collect drippings, and the sight of someone walking down the street with one of these huge cuts slung over their shoulder, provisioned for a family feast. There are a lot of things I love about Spain, and the ham definitely makes the top ten.

In Spanish, the word “jamon” not only means “ham” but also “a dish of a woman”.

Where’s the nearest street protest? You’ll be seeing me shortly as Christian Rage Boy.
