GORE'S NINE LIES
Al’s Inconvenient Truth has its day in a British court:
A High Court judge who ruled on whether climate change film, An Inconvenient Truth, could be shown in schools said it contains "nine scientific errors".
Here’s something for the Truthers to chew over: by other estimations, the same court found eleven material inaccuracies. Nine ... and eleven ... 9/11! Think about it.
I can’t wait for Tony Jones’ reply if any on this. It should be very very funny or stupid.

Besides we all knew that Global warming is a pentagon conspiracy to provide the basis for an attack on Iraq, I mean Iran, I mean brown people who have oil!

The standard line already is:
Whatever tiny mistakes we might make along the Way to Purity, we owe it to our children to scare the pants off them anyway, with the True Message of Napoleon, our Leader.
“All those who oppose our Cause are Heretics! Disbelieve them, Children! Cast them out! Close Thy ears!”
The chant arose from the assembled throng:
“Four Degrees Good, two Degrees Bad!” etc, etc.Thankfully, because of the legal precedent set here, there is now f**k all chance that the pile of shit known as Loose Change will ever be shown in schools.
Mind you Loose Change is just the Troofer’s answer to An Incontinent Truth.Posted by Bill Calvin on 2007 10 10 at 08:21 PM • permalink"The Government’s expert was forced to concede...”
“The Government’s expert had to accept ...”
“The Government’s expert had to accept...”
“The Government could not find any evidence to support this claim.”
“The Government are unable to substantiate...”
At least ‘Flummery’ puts his name to his prognostications.
The shiny-arsed, cardigan brigade in their taxpayer funded air-conditioned offices, most of whom have never had an original thought or put their aforementioned shiny arses on the line in their entire lives, ought to be made accountable.
The same applies in this country. How will it feel should you win, AL?
You a white man and your fellow leftists be they white, black, brown, yellow or red condeming once again, this time with “nine factual errors” and “eleven material inaccuracies”, Moreover, a movie whose upshot is that the poor in Calcutta and West Africa should be denied access to the energy that can lift them out of poverty?
Is it any wonder that these people turn to the vile Islamists?
You don’t give a damn AL...you’ve got your prize, money, a run for the presidency of the United States, all the while behind that smile on the overstuffed face of yours, you are thinking...you people have done without for centuries...fuck you.
#39Al “nine lives” Gore? or Al “11 wrongs dont make you right” Gore?
Its not science then. His thesis is disproven in its current form, try harder Mr Gore grade “f” for you.

Posted by Old school on 2007 10 10 at 09:04 PM • permalinkInteresting though, the 9 whoppers weren’t minor ones at all and were some of the key points used to defend the film.
#3 Kae, call me cynical, but while Im glad that there will be more questions raised about the overall issue of climate change, I’m still disappointed that people were silent when we really needed them to speak up. Why does it take a court case for people to ‘suddenly find their tongues’?
Shit - I never realised Al Gore was a Mossad agent.

Because too much Gore is never enough, I present Al promoting the ALP on the ALP’s website.
Here. What was that about furriners interfering in Australian politics again Kev??

If the Gorecle wind the Peace prize, those polar bears will not have died in vain.

My mum was funny the other night.
She said that after Kevvie’s alignment with AlBore any microscopic chance, improbable as it was, that she would cast a vote in any way, shape or form, for Kevvie and the ALP, has vanished.
She did labour the point that it was an improbably, microscopic, minute chance…You would have thought that the thinking public could spot a snake oil salesman in this day and age wouldnt you? Wonder how long it will be before Australian educators adopt the “there may be some errors in this movie” stance before they brainwash our kids with it. .... what was that about hell freezing over?
Al Gore defined…
Snake oil salesman
A travelling “doctor” with dubious credentials, selling some medicine (such as snake oil) with boisterous marketing hype, often supported by pseudo-scientific evidence, typically bogus. To enhance sales, an accomplice in the crowd (a “shill") would often “attest” the value of the product in an effort to provoke buying enthusiasm. The “doctor” would prudently leave town before his customers realized that they had been cheated.

Could any of our learned colleagues on this blog comment on the possibility of a class action to nail the next GW alarmist fool whose irresponsible public claims can be shown to have contributed to new taxes, job losses, etc, etc? There are surely billions in the harm ledger already
I would like to see our learned Doctors of Jurisprudence, file on behalf of those African and Indian masses the are being dealt another blow in their struggle to join the 20th Century...the we can work on the 21st.

The terms of section 52 of the Trade Practices Act are very wide.
If he has been spruiking in Australia on behalf of his carbon trading company or whatever it is, seeking cash on the basis that the world is going to end, someone with the cash and the will might like to give it a run ?
The recent findings of the English Court may be err inconvenient ?
It’s also possible that Al may take second prize in the Nobel sweepstakes.
Although I confess that I would love to see the look on his face if the Nobel Prize turned out to be this, or maybe even this.
#40: From the link: “(1) A corporation shall not, in trade or commerce, engage in conduct that is misleading or deceptive or is likely to mislead or deceive.”
On the patio of the private penthouse, high atop Paco Towers, the CEO’s booming laugh startles a flock of nesting turkey buzzards into sudden flight
Shouldn’t we nominate Al for the Ig Nobel Prize?
OT BTW WTF ROTFLMAO RSVP
Timster, Please pass on my congratulations to whomever wrote the caption in the Daily Telegraph yesterday to a photo of a gaily attired female (from memory):

In the search line type in “documentary film” and away you go !
Given the penchant of members of this site for in depth computer research, a case with some direct relevance should be found if it exists.
Another thought is construing the film as advertising for his carbon credit wares.
To the Goreacolytles who attended the workshop and have been “Accredited”, don’t worry we’re just a bunch of ignorant bilious gobshites here, who just talk, don’t do nuffin and think The Castle was a training fillum.
But you better read up on s.52 before you do your next “seminar”, just in case.
Ooops according to the ABC water vapour is increasing in the atmosphre causing more AGW.
However whats the solution say the greenies?
More Cowbellno “"We’ve got to reduce emissions by probably 50 to 60 per cent by 2050 to have a reasonable chance of avoiding dangerous climate change,” he said.”Link here.

Two legal avenues seem promising: scrutinising fund raising for breaches of corporations law (eg, raising cash by false & deceptive conduct, misrepresentation, fraud, whatever.); and the class action by groups suffering damage, eg increased insurance premiums attributable to systematic public lying on the part of the usual suspects. The latter is a long shot, but I for one am starting to get pissed off and I sense I’m not alone.Al Gore lied,
Intellect died.I always thought the motto of PACO Industries was Caveat Emptor.
The motto of the Environmentalists, including the Global Warmmongers, must be Mundus Vult Decepi (The world wishes to be deceived).

Wait for the backlash, all the doubters who never had the courage to criticise the film initially, will start to become a little more vocal if the discussion that was on the British Sky News this morning is any guide.
