GORE DAY DAWNS

The Arctic Monkeys aren’t the only folk unimpressed by GoreAid. Also dismissive is Mick Hume:

Despite this patronising carnival of infantilisation, many of us seem fairly grown up about global warming. Although children report lying awake worrying about it, a survey confirms that adults remain quite sceptical about climate change alarmism. With any luck, we will be punished for this naughtiness by being sent to bed early on Saturday, and made to miss all the worthy fun of the Gore-fest.

And from Investor’s Business Daily:

The event’s organizers, promoters, celebrities and participants are engaging in one of most monumental acts of hypocrisy in memory.

Ratzinasack, live at The Rock, Cambridge, UK, 9pm

Methinks Gore has jumped the shark.  He came out too early with his crusade and now will be a laughing stock instead of a presidential candidate six months from now.

  13. Al Gore’s business partner speaks…

“LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch)—He often jokes that his company could be called “Blood & Gore.” But David Blood, who with former Vice President Al Gore runs an investment firm that speculates on environmentally friendly businesses, takes the prospect of running such a fund seriously…”

“Generation’s assets under management have quadrupled over the past year and now stand at about $1 billion.”

“Generation got its start in 2004, when Gore’s efforts to warn the world about the dangers of global warming were taking flight. Its portfolio, though, is actually only in its second year of existence.”

So Al got interested in “saving the planet” (through stock scams) a whole three years ago?  Impressive.

“Blood won’t disclose the names of companies Generation has invested in…”

I’ll bet.  Guess we’ll just have to take their word for it that their investments are cancelling out all the pollution Al and his friends spew on a daily basis, because for some reason GIM’s portfolio is top secret.

“...but the roster can run the gamut. He has said he’ll even look at oil and gas producers if Generation is persuaded they’re making an effort to clean up their acts. In a recent interview, Blood pointed to companies like oil giant BP as an example of those that strive for a more eco-friendly approach.”

ROTFLMAO.  Going to offset all that CO2 you guys put out by investing in BP, are we?

You couldn’t parody the hypocrisy of Al Gore and his business partners if you tried.

(For those that don’t know, Sheffield, among other places, suffered some nasty flooding after the heavy rain a week or two back.)

  28. “So they must not be open to outside investors. Because if they’re accepting investments from the public, they HAVE to say who they’re invested in. “

You are exactly correct.  Al Gore’s “Green” investment group is an LLP, not an ordinary publicly traded corporation.

That means that the rest of us can’t get in on the action by buying shares, and it also, apparently, means that they aren’t required to make public exactly what it is they’re invested in.

So when big Al claims that his investments are offsetting his co2 output (which is total hogwash, anyway, you’re either pouring out co2 or you’re not), you’ll just have to take his word for it.

  31. “Investor’s Business Daily nailed it.”

If they realy want to nail it they’ll start looking at Al Gore’s personal businesses and start asking some questions.  Here’s some they could start with.

1.)  If Al is all about saving the enviroment, as opposed to making money, why didn’t he make his investment corporation a non-profit?

2.)  Why does his investment firm donate only 5% of the profits to their (supposed) enviromental foundation…with the partners taking 95% of the profits for themselves?  Isn’t saving baby Gaia from a horrible heat-death more important than tawdry things like making money?

3.)  Why is it that GIM is set up as a Limited Liability Partnership instead of being a publicly traded joint stock company where everyone can get a piece of the action (and also help save baby Gaia)?

4.)  Why is the firm’s managing director reluctant to tell us where the firm’s assets are invested?

5.)  Why is the firm headquartered in the UK instead of the United States?  Easier to fight global warming in England?  Or, is it because the partners personally benefit from the UK’s incorporation laws, and couldn’t give a damn about Global Warming?

6.)  Why are all the founders corporate investment managers, politicians and crooked Clinton administration lawyers?  Why aren’t there any climatologists or enviromental activists included in there?  I mean this is about saving the planet from being boiled like an egg, isn’t it?

Inquiring minds want to know the answers to these questions.

But, as they become more discredited, the hard core will become more desperate to prove they are right.

So either we submit or wait for some idjit to start something with the aim of following up on the -90% of global population “to save mother Gaia”.

It is fun to laugh at them but they may well turn into the greatest threat humanity has yet faced.

All that’s really needed for the worst case scenario to bloom into the nastiest of realities is one true believer in a position to train young minds and the authority to filter who’s allowed to pass into masters and/or PhD programs in such areas as micro biology or bio genetics.

Such a person could put together a real tight group of devotees to work a project that would get even with all the doubters and deniers.
