GALLOWS FOR GALLOWAY

George Galloway, whose revisionist views on Iraq were noted yesterday, has been attacked by Islamic extremists :

Anti-war campaigner Mr Galloway was forced to take refuge from Islamic militants who denounced him as a “false prophet”.

The former Labour MP said “the police saved my life” after supporters of radical group Hizb-Ut-Tahrir clashed with members of his Respect party last night ...

Mr Galloway was electioneering on the Osier council estate in Bethnal Green last night when a gang of 30 Muslim fundamentalists, who claim voting is un-Islamic, surrounded him and his supporters.

The men said they were angry at Mr Galloway’s attempt to woo Muslim voters. They said they were “setting up the gallows” for him and warned any Muslim who voted for his anti-war Respect party that they faced a “sentence of death”.

Mr Galloway, who is due to share a platform with the leader of Hizb-ut-Tahrir on Saturday at a debate on Muslims and politics, said he was being targeted because he offered a democratic solution to Muslims. Hizb-ut-Tahrir is not illegal but it has been banned from university campuses for stirring trouble between Jewish and Muslim students. It supports Palestinian suicide bombers.

What do the British people think about this, George?

  1. Now that is truly precious.

Poor George. I guess he just isn’t appeasing hard enough.

  4. “What do the British people think about this?”

They think parts of the country are totally lost to civilisation.

  5. I think George should ask himself “why do they hate me so?”.  Because of the root causes George.  Such as the fact that you’re a corrupt ignoramus.

Go ahead, sue me for that Baghdad Boy.

  6. I highly doubt this is going to be a learning experience for Mr. Galloway. People like him have an amazing ability to blame the west for this. So I think we can expect Mr. Galloway and his ilk to refrain from criticizing Islam and to boldly attack Christians, after all Christians do not make habit of pinning notes to people’s chest with the knife they just used to slash their throats with.

  8. It doesn’t make *me* laugh, it scares the bejeezus out of me. Is there no corner of Europe that’s going to survive this?

George will probably make another effort at winning their love on Saturday by strapping on a bomber belt for the debate and promising if elected he’ll making going to Jerusalem his first act of business.

And then he’ll uulate in his closing statement.

  11. Stupidity meets extremism. Unfortunately, I think the above commenters are right and this won’t exactly be the eye-opening experience it should be for Galloway.

  12. I understand George fax’d Baghdad, demanding an additional per diem for the indignity of this incident.  You want to tell him or shall I?

And go ahead and sue, George.  Here in the states we have this thing called a “motion to compel discovery” and I would love to go wandering through your bankbooks with one…

    George:  DOH!

  14. All Galloway needs is for Robert Fisk to write up a “I would have attacked me too” column to explain the whole thing away…

  16. Maybe we should get Galloway together with Pat Buchanan.  The deep personal corruption and self-righteousness coupled with the profound antisemitism could be the foundation for a truly Transatlantic Party…

  17. I’m waiting for Hizb-ut-Tahrir to make one of their Islamic snuff movies (where they cut of the guys head with a bread knife), starring George Galloway.

  18. IIRC, Mark Steyn hit on this phenomenon over three years ago, where the western apologists for terrorism are shocked to discover that they are part of the group slated for Allah’s Memory Hole.  “They have barely time to whimper, ‘But I’m on your side,’ before their bodies slump to the floor,” or words to that effect.

As Captain von Trapp tried to tell Rolf, “You’ll never be one of them.”  I’ll have probably less success with Galloway than von Trapp had with Ralph, but it ought to be tried anyway.
