FURTHER EVIDENCE OF EVIL

Via California’s Andrew Lloyd, news that Douglas Wood has returned to his second home:

Douglas Wood, who was a captive in Baghdad for six weeks before a military raid freed him June 15, came home to his family’s Alamo home late Thursday, making only a few brief statements before going into the house.

Earlier, upon his arrival at San Francisco International Airport, Wood had told reporters from NBC’s San Jose affiliate, KNTV, “You never know what’s going to happen next ... When they come in the night and shoot guys ... knowing ... tonight might be your turn. You don’t get used to that ... “

Wood, riding in a convertible, arrived at home around 10 p.m. Thursday, apparently having stopped off to see friends on the way from the airport.

Note to Melbourne Age staffers: California is in the US. Resume the hatred!

  4. I know we settled the secession question in 1865, but I think we should make an exception for San Fran et al.

    Better yet, can we just kick them out of the U.S.?  They don’t want to be here anyway. 

    Maybe Canada would like to have a colony....?  :-D

  6. As the aformentioned California’s Andrew Lloyd (and a 5th generation Bay Arean) I gently offer the point that if California ever did separate from the Union, these pinkos here would swarm over the borders and start pushing for all this communist crap in Arizona and Nevada and parts East.

    Yes, California’s polity is irredeemably fucked, but these latte drinking utopians think it can yet be improved.  We few righties here in California keep them on guard (Schwarzenegger has them driven to distraction) and prevent them from exporting the revolution.

    It is the Pacific Lefty Flypaper Strategy.  So appreciate it, while you can. 

    And if I ever see Douglas Wood around town (as he is indeed near me), I will buy him dinner on behalf of the whole Tim Blair community.
