FULL BODY STRAIGHTNESS DENIED
The ABC’s Sally Neighbour interviews torture claimant and competitive athlete Mamdouh Habib:
MAMDOUH HABIB: The bed, you can’t be relaxed, you can’t be full body straight.
SALLY NEIGHBOUR: You can’t lie straight?
Not even in bed, apparently.
UPDATE. The Habib family just keeps getting tortured. (Via surfmaster.)
Mum and I dridn’t want to shout at the television. We ignored the programme.
Oh, and he’s sueing the Government for something (I can’t be bothered looking), he wants $10M.
I wonder, will he still be lining up at Centrelink if he gets a payout?
(Can someone tell me how he can be getting social security when he and his wife ran a coffee shop in Haldon Street Lakemba?)
Habib - not all terrorists are afraid of “Decadent Whorish Military Women from America”

Posted by Wimpy Canadian on 2007 06 14 at 06:40 PM • permalink#13, Wimpy. I see from your link that Amnesty International Canada Secretary-General Alex Neve says that
”...Australia, Britain and other countries have been ‘very forceful’, in demanding the release of their citizens”, and that “Canada virtually stood alone on the world stage in its reluctance to act”.How come all we’ve heard ever heard here are claims from Amnesty International that the “Howard Government” (aka the Australian Federal Government) was doing nothing, nothing for David Hicks and Mamdouh Habib?
Different strokes for different folks, I guess. They really are hypocrites at Amnesty.
#15 Ann j, if I understand your post correctly, what you are fingering is the rhetorical ploys employed by Amnesty Idiots and other tranzies.
When talking in Canada, it is only the Canadians who have done bad; when in Australia, only Australians.
Basically, these people have zero credibility. Where are their denunciations of muslims willy-nilly killing muslims, let alone being unpleasnat.

A sitcom where family members amateurishly stage fraudulent accidents for compensation and insurance claims, sign on at Centrelink on a variety of names, rebirth Subaru WRXs and gather nightly to humiliate and beat any female members of the clan.
It’ll need a catchy name though- how about “Caliph Country”?
We’ll have to work in a recognisable catchphrase as well- how about “The Skyline? You’re not taking the Skyline! I just wired the semtex in the boot! And besides which you are stupid woman, unable to drive autombile! how dare you request such- go and fetch my birch, bitch!”
And perhaps we can have a daughter who picks up a bogan boyfriend, whose visit to the household is met by exclamations of “Bloody infidel! there’s no beer! Leave money for kebab on fridge!”
The daughter’d have to be written out after the first episode though, as she would be throttled with a recently dismantled Commodores clutch cable then buried in the back yard next tot the arms cache and tin boxes containing the proceeds of narcotics trafficking.
I reckon this has got legs.
Water boarding, electro shock therapy, short-sheeting, Guantanamo used every dirty trick in the book.

And the wine they served at dinner time was not properly chilled either.
Posted by surfmaster on 2007 06 14 at 09:54 PM • permalinkIt is absolutely scandalous that the Federal Government was aware an Australian citizen was being transferred by the USA to Egypt for the sole purpose of interrogating him with torture, and lied about this knowledge.
That was Kevin Rudd btw.
The rest of Australia will say, wait, is that about Habib? haha sucked in scumbag.
mmm, actually there could be something to this. I bet we get an Inquiry and the public servants say they passed the cable on to the minister and the minister says he never saw it.
Mamdouh Habib should just feel lucky that he was in prison, not working:
Prison: You spend the majority of your time in a 10X10 cell
Work: You spend the majority of your time in an 8X8 cubicle
Prison: You get three meals a day fully paid for
Work: You get a break for one meal and you have to pay for it
Prison: You get time off for good behaviour
Work: You get more work for good behaviour
Prison: The guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you
Work: You must often carry a security card and open all the doors for yourself
Prison: You can watch TV and play games
Work: You could get fired for watching TV and playing games
Prison: You get your own toilet
Work: You have to share the toilet with some people who pee on the seat
Prison: They allow your family and friends to visit
Work: You aren’t even supposed to speak to your family
Prison: All expenses are paid by the taxpayers with no work required
Work: You get to pay all your expenses to go to work, and they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners, and welfare
Prison: You spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out
Work: You spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars
Prison: You must deal with dumb, sadistic wardens
Work: They are called managers
THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE!!!!
