FRANCHISE GROWS
The Tim Blair Building in New South Wales is now joined by Tim Blair Field in New Hampshire.
(Actually, it’s a typo; the real name is Tom Blair Field. Still, this is the nicest honour-in-error since Yahoo News briefly appointed me Prime Minister of Britain.)
How about some honors for Miss Harris?
I have just arranged for the first hurricane of the North Atlantic season to be named in her honor.

Posted by richard mcenroe on 2007 05 10 at 11:03 AM • permalinkHa ha, the Blair influence grows. Soon there will be giant portraits of him on the sides of tall buildings. Every schoolroom will have his picture on the wall, smiling down at all the little RWDBs-in-training. As our Dark Lord Rove drifts farther back into the shadows, Tim Blair will become the new Scourge of the Nutroots! Victory will be complete!
Or he’ll just go out to road-test another dysfunctional vehicle. Either way, it’s all good.
Actually, I went to Blair Academy in Blairstown, NJ.

Was it on the corner of Blair Street and Blair?

My 25th reunion is coming up next month.

*in a Monty Burns sense, of course.

Actually, it was William F. Buckley, in 1965. He wrote a book about this experience entitled “The Unmaking of A Mayor.”

Mailer did run for mayor of NYC in 1969.
I seem to remember that quote being attributed to him. If it was, in fact, Buckley then I will invoke the Buckley convention regarding PM of Britain. It does sound like both of them. There was another great quote by Buckley regarding trials. Something about taking a page out of the NYC phone directory and getting a better trial.
Tasty Corn!
Welcome back to Blair News, it’s gutsy and it’s good!
The winner for best new Blair Bogie Blogger Quote goes to:
“If the possum wants to rid himself of the Creature, I would advise him to throw a bottle of chardonnay into the neighbouring yard.”
Margos Maid
More Blair Bogie Awards contiune throughout the page..There was another great quote by Buckley regarding trials. Something about taking a page out of the NYC phone directory and getting a better trial.
Actually - “I would rather live in a society governed by the first 2,000 names in the Boston phone directory than in one governed by the 2,000 members of the Harvard faculty.”
I really shouldn’t read this blog while I’m trying to eat weetbix. There have been far too many near misses.

It won’t count until lefties start setting out for Tasmania on inner-tubes and oil-drum rafts… oh, who am I kidding? What lefty has that kind of initiative?

I really should invest in a selection of keyboards just in case.

I’m sure PACO or Andy Canuck have products galore -I’m too snuffled up to think of product acronyms. *snif*

You mean you weren’t Prime Minister of Britain? What a relief.
