FILM VIEWED

A devout Baptist couple who bought a Doris Day DVD were shocked to find a sex film instead. Still, they got their money’s worth:

Alan and Anne Leigh-Browne, from Wellington, Somerset, had been expecting to enjoy The Pajama Game.

Instead they were confronted by Italian sex film - Tettone che Passione, which translates Breasts, What a Passion.

“It was a pretty raunchy, explicit film, it certainly pulled no punches,” Mr Leigh-Browne said.

“My wife and I were very shocked but we watched it until the end because we couldn’t believe what we were seeing.”

  4. Great googlie mooglie, I just read the article and it’s like something out of the Onion, in an alternate world where the Onion is still writing funny things.

I love how the couple notes that there was “no plot”.

  5. It reminds me of the Islington Borough Council initiative a couple of years back where all these pasty faced, coke bottle glassed wowsers descended upon the district’s strip bars in order to determine whether or not they’d be offended by the goings on…

  6. “My wife and I were very shocked but we watched it until the end because we couldn’t believe what we were seeing.”

They’ll watch it again just to be sure they’re as shocked as they think they are.

  7. Make that that they’ll watch it three times just to ensure they were really shocked like they thought they were all along.

Can’t quite remember what Martin from The Simpsons said when Bart showed the kids a porn film, but it was something along the lines of “disgusting, but strangely alluring”.

No plot in a porn film, now that, ahem, genuinely comes a shock.

Mind you I’ve heard Willies: What A Wonder, in true European style, is a subtle, deep film that deconstructs the male appendage.

What a pair of…melons Mr and Mrs Leigh-Browne are.

  9. One of the things which struck me about the transition from VHS to DVD was that it would no longer be possible to see Smurf and Teletubby videos, which had been hired to amuse the tots, unexpectedly overwritten with something that might be more amusing to the babysitter. Of course I hadn’t reckoned on people being able to burn their own DVD’s. So, babysitters of the future need not fear being denied the accidental opportunity to enjoy such Kiwi classics as “Prince Farming”, “Cattle of Lust!” and “Deep Goat”.

  10. And doesn’t the BBC love a Baptists-shocked-by-sex-story.

    Cliched and boring and stupid.

  15. Be nice.  They watched it to the end because they thought Doris Day would eventually show up.
