FERGUSON SHUNNING MOOTED

Bob Ellis identifies John Howard’s latest crime:

He won’t stand up for the whales the Japanese are threatening to kill.

Ellis has a personal interest in the preservation of oversized mammals that dwell in a liquid environment. He’s not so friendly towards Labor’s Laurie Ferguson, however:

I used to meet him at Film Festivals. I will hereafter, I think, avoid his company.

Poor Laurie.

Glass House tonight is bitching about blogs.
Could it be we’re beginning to bite?
People in Glass Houses shouldn’t throw stones.

  4. Can I get on the list of people Ellis will avoid? With he avoiding me and me avoiding he we would probably never meet! Fantastic.

  5. Standing up for whales?  Is that like yachtsman Blondie Hasler’s famous dictum that “a gentleman drowns standing up, in silence?”

  6. Give the guy a break.  Maybe Bob the Pisshead is afraid of being chased by Japanese whaling boats the next time he takes a dip off Cape Byron.

  7. murph….stunning visual though somewhat tainted by very likelihood of dozen of whale culters desperately trying to roll the wallowing beast back into the water lest he beach himself and suffocate.

    If only.

  9. Perhaps JWH won’t stand up for the whales because he can’t yet walk on water?

Brilliant. Sledge of 2005. Glenn McGrath will have his work cut out to match that.

  15. Hi. First time commenting on this blog. Howdy to everyone here.

Looking at the Ellis article seems like Tim was generous in only singling out those couple of lines. The whole thing was worthy of a study. One thing jumped out. Bob says Howard won’t defend out whales by “say - putting tariffs on Japanese cars”. He might not have noticed but we already have tariffs on Japanese cars. And in any case Japan don’ t mind these tariffs that much since Mitsubishi and Toyota both make cars here.

Wow - love that preview option
