Here’s a first: behold the unique non-compassionate head tilt. Well done.

  1. OT: This is too hilarious to ignore. Some freakazoid at Melbourne Indymedia posted the following:

    and don’t mention war profiteers

    War is everywhere…

Melbourne’s trams are part of the war apparartus…
Fare evade and party against the war!
All of Melbourne’s trams are run by Yarra trams, a company owned by the Transfield corporation who manufacture and supply guns, tanks, helicopterS and all kinds of war machines to the Australian, US, Israeli and Indonesian militaries. Those who own Yarra Trams directly profit from war, militarism and state terror.
But Yarra Trams militarism is also experienced on the trams themselves with their every increasing regimes of policing and ticket inspecting, a regime that attempts to inforce their profit making through fear and atomization.

  2. Brains trust and his mates will feel a little state terror when they get collared for fare evasion or putting their plates on the seat. A chunk of their personal profit will fly directly into state coffers, thereby fuelling state terror.

  3. Let me see if I’ve got this straight.  The tram owners are fascists because they expect people to ride their trams to actually buy tickets?

  4. Transfield make Tanks?  Maybe rain water tanks or something like that, but htey don’t make Tanks, not Main Battle Tanks.

  5. I’m not sure if that head tilt is more sad or menacing.

  6. It’s worse than that, Achillea.

According to the last sentence, if they catch you without a ticket they’ll atomize you.

  7. Actually, the trams are owned and run by Connex, a French company.

Now there’s a strategy for exercising influence on geopolitics.

  10. The fearless head tilt requires a defiant jutting of the jaw to be effective.

  11. Jono’s lovable ratbag (#1 above) is partly right.
Transfield is a major part of ADI (formerly Australian Defence Industries), who make armoured vehicles, anmmunition and explosives and command and control systems for Australia’s military forces. They are also a 50% partner in Yarra Trams in Melbourne.
But it is drawing a veeerrry long bow to equate paying a fare on a tram to to feeding the military industrial complex.
I marvel at these loonies and their tortured reasoning.

  12. Sweet. The Fearless Tilt is much better than the Compassionate Tilt. Note the set lips, narrowed eyes and slight furrow to the brow. Much better than the vapid sheepishness of the wide-eyed Compassion Tilt.

And no, I’m not being sarcastic.

  13. Treacher links to more head tilts of the non-compassionate kind (well, most aren’t actually tilting their heads.  But it’s good, anyway).
