<< VIOLENCE CONTINUES ~ MAIN ~ FARE ENOUGH >>

EXACTLY WRONG

CNN’s headline:

Anti-Arab rioters smash cars, windows in Sydney

Of course, the car smashers are—to use the expression du jour—“men of Middle Eastern appearance”.

(Via Cornelius. Several readers also point out Tim Priest’s excellent piece in today’s Australian.)

UPDATE. An ABC TV reporter, in a piece on last night’s attacks aired a few minutes ago, said: “Inexplicably, caucasians were not the only targets.” As though it’s understandable to attack whitey.

UPDATE II. The SMH’s Andrew West:

Australia does not have a race relations problem. We have a clash of cultures and that’s a big difference—and maybe the problem is certain forms of Islam.

  1. Thanks, kae. I’m confused about which Drac photo, though.

  2. Oh, Heck! Andrea you banned spek (I suspek he was Swedish, btw) before I could roll out the Islamic History Guns. Crap. The guy or girl simply did not know enough Islamic history to speak to the situation. And he also did not know enough history of medieval Europe, either.

It is too bad that information is wasted on people who cannot actually use it properly. RebeccaH, you’re right, as usual. And even the so-called enlightened Islamic conquerors of the past were not always the same from one year to the next. Dhimmi might be treated reasonably well for a good while then suddenly there would be a crackdown. They might be forced to convert, be killed, or run off. It depended upon where you lived in the Islamic Caliphate and who was occupying the throne in Damascus. Or in Morocco if you lived in Occupied Spain. If spek had ever bothered to do some reading of say, Bernard Lewis, instead of relying only on Internet sources, he would have a far better grasp on the behavior of Islamics worldwide today. It’s all there in their history.

I feel like I missed a really good time here. Yakking too much on another thread. That’ll teach me.

Nooooo… speaking as one who doesn’t have a dog in this particular fight, you were totally splattered.

  8. #233 Where was the editor of the National Indigenous Times when Aboriginal teenagers including 14 year old girls were beating up two Asian girl students on a railway station in W.A. Not the first time either.
Also when aborigines were mugging asian uni students walking home from their university-a common occurrence.
By the way I believe many Indonesians converted to the Islamic religion through working in Malaysia as guest workers…

  10. Did the editor of the National Indigenous Times apply the term “human filth” to the aboriginal teenagers (including two fourteen year old girls)who beat up two asian girl students, who got off a train, kicking, punching etc-all caught on security camera and on tv news.
Also the aboriginals who repeatedly mugged asian students returning to their homes after classes.

You don’t shit in your own backyard.

  13. Yes, Islam is the problem. All one needs to do to understand this is look at the newspapers around the world.

A quick look at the Quran and Hadiths reveals a religion of hate, oppression and anger. The life of Mohammed was - how can I put it mildly - one of violence and intolerance.  To Muslims, he is their great example - yet Islam’s own accounts tell of raids, torture, murders, slavery, wife-beating and so on.  It is not a pretty story.

Islam may not always be the reason for unrest or riots, but it is the enabling agent that not only makes these possible, it gives them meaning. Of course not all Muslim are bad, much to the contrary. The problem is that they are indifferent and/or in denial.  They refuse to consider the basic facts about their religion. In simple terms, radical Muslims kill, while moderates make excuses. If these problems were isolated events, they could be explained away and ignored.  Much to the contrary, where Islam dominates, we see oppression and lack of freedoms.  Where Muslims have moved in large numbers to Western societies, we see unrest and hate. Much of what is happening today can be traced to events and people that lived 1400 years ago.

People need to understand that the rules of immigration have changed. Things are different now.  Up to 30-40 years ago when one moved to another country, one had to integrate to survive, at least to a certain degree. Now with globalization, the new media and communications technology, the welfare state and the doctrine of multiculturalism, integration is not only unnecessary, but even discouraged. One can now move to Australia and not work, not associate with other cultures, and even listen to their favorite Imam back in the Old Country.  It is a whole new game.  This is a new situation and to make matters worse, the doctrine of Political Correctness forbids us to even talk about it.  This is a very explosive mixture of circumstances and events.

Because Muslims refuse to consider the basic problems inherent to Islam, they cannot change.  Because they cannot change, things will get worse, much worse.

The only things we can do are be honest with them about Islam, and treat them equally.  The laws must be applied to all - without regard for race, gender, culture, ethnicity or religion.  Accept no excuses.

Sadly, I think this will make no difference.  Muslims do not want to even consider the unpleasant truth about Islam and the not-so-nice life of its founder.  They will not change, and a lot of innocent people will get hurt. The future will not be pretty.
