ECLECTIC MIX DRAWN

Just look at these morons, and then marvel at the San Francisco Chronicle’s report:

The protest drew an eclectic mix ranging from pacifist groups to socialist political parties to immigrant rights and women’s organizations. Initiated by the ANSWER coalition, the National Council of Arab Americans and the Muslim American Society’s Freedom Foundation, the rally also supported the Palestinian “right of return” to land that is now Israel, and money for jobs and education.

Protesters—ranging from women with head scarves and full black robes to students in T-shirts and tattoos to couples pushing children in strollers—filled three city blocks, marching under Palestinian and Lebanese flags, a blue peace banner featuring a white dove and the purple standard of the Gabriela Network, an organization to empower Filipinas in the United States.

“I think war is an enemy of everybody and solves nothing,” said Eleanor Ohman, 87, of San Francisco, a member of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom. “I wish the president instead of saying ‘God bless America,’ would say, ‘God bless the world.’ “

Other protesters were more militant.

No kidding.

Pro-Israel demonstration - good quality signs with a strong statement, lots of flags, normal looking people, all in all: “professional”. Pro-Hizbollah demonstration =  signs are the usual half-assed scrappy bits of cardboard that someone’s 8 year old wrote on. Barely legible, incoherent hateful rants. Motley collection of arabs and Mother Sheehan sympathisers. To sum up: “deranged”.

  5. A thought just occurred to me as to the reason for the fixation the liberal left/hippy establishment has with nazis with a fetish for wearing kitchen linen- the same reason that their precedents (and quite a few of their current fellows who dropped one too many clearlights) in the ‘60s loved the Hells Angels and other bikie gangs, and other bad-ass violent criminals- they’re bad boys, who do shit the gimps of the left would love to do but don’t have the ‘nads.

And why do the turbanned terors love the left? Not only do they massage their weak egos, they’d buy over-priced adulterated dope off them (and probably give them plenty of leg-overs as well, if only the Sand-Goblins can stand the smell of patchouli- the proponderance of body hair would probably be a bonus).

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

  6. Man, I can’t believe I had to wait until the second paragraph for the “strollers” trope:

    couples pushing children in strollers

You could win a bar bet that every friggin’ sympathetic article written about lefty demonstrations includes the fact that some morons think it’s appropriate to bring strollers and it’s axiomatic that the strollers confer some sort of middle class bourgeois legitimacy to the repugnant views expressed by the demonstrators (as if f*cktards like these aren’t also capable of creating babies!)

Using evocative words like “grandmother” or stating a person’s age, e.g. “the seventy one year old grandmother was led off to jail…” are also overused bullsh*t. The prisons are full of septagenarians who are, in fact, bad people and the hippy maladroits that didn’t do us a favor by OD’ing in the ‘60’s are now simply older.

It’s tough luck for Goebbels that he didn’t think to bring baby strollers to the Nuremburg Rallies or the book burnings. That’s some head tilt worthy stuff.

  26. From the essay..

The politicians, journalists and intellectuals of Lebanon have, of late, been experiencing the shock of their lives. They knew full well that Hezbollah had created an independent state in our country, a state including all the ministers and parallel institutions, duplicating those of Lebanon. What they did not know – and are discovering with this war, and what has petrified them with surprise and terror – is the extent of this phagocytosis.

In fact, our country had become an extension of Iran…

  28. In 2003, my sister, a little bit older than I, in London attended a huge anti-war (in Iraq) demonstration. She said it was just like the anti-war (in Vietnam) demos she used to attend in ‘68.

I told her that there was nothing similar and she was being used by payed agents who organised the demo. No response.

I think we can draw conclusions here. I guess she just rembered the3 clouds of Red Leb from the ‘60s.

  33. That “Palestinian right of return” is a giveaway, this was a demo for Israel’s destruction and the genocide of the Jews.  The demonstartors are the real Nazis.

    #28 Canadian,
I think your sister and you are both correct.  The demo she attended is just like those from the Vietnam period that sought the victory of Communist totalitarianism, and you are correct in saying that she and her fellow demonstrators are the dupes of totalitarian agents.

Assuming they are dupes is the kindlier option.  So many of these people seem to be hostile to Western Civilization and hate the Jews that we might conclude that they are the active and witting allies of our enemies, and see no problems with extermination of the Jews and the conquest of the West by a new Caliphate.  They think that any means is justified to destroy the hated capitalism, the vile USA, and the evil Jews.

  34. There have been lots of articles on the “urge to march” which demonstrate pretty clearly that any force they may have had in politics is long gone.  To march in one of these parades is to identify yourself as a “loser first class”.

I was in the marches of the late 60’s in Australia as one of the organisers.  Even at the time I knew that it would be the ballot box that was effective, not a march or two.  The marches were for us to use as a vehicle to express ourselves at a time when the media generally did not allow us time and space.  They were also egotistical in that we thought we were going to change the world.

These marchers look like people who regard marches as a valid and entertaining Sunday activity.  “Bring the kids, make up a sign, lets have a march!”

I swear, these are the only three things that keep me sane in the face of idiots like- well, like Mr. “Nazi Kikes,” who makes me want to introduce him to Mr. Baseball Bat. For cryin’ out loud, why doesn’t the media realize that these aren’t legitimate protestors- they’re adults playing dress-up and fantasizing about being heroes, Speaking Truth to Power? I just came off an eleven-hour shift at the Bristol Renaissance Faire (“Where Fantasy Rules”) and I saw people with (a) better costumes and (b) a firmer grip on reality than any of these freaks. And I INCLUDE in that statement the guys in the Dead Parade, the bevy of drag queens, the dude in the giant dragon mask, and all the women who need to learn that a chainmail bikini ain’t wise when you’re over 300 pounds.

They’re role-playing. And worse, they’re not even doing it well. You can’t have a +2 Nazi Insult (magic attack) paired with a +5 Amulet of Anti-Semitism. The runes are incompatible.
