<< NO GWYN ZONE ~ MAIN ~ TEAM UNIFORM >>
DUBYA DOUBLE
It’s an article of faith among some of the hate-Bush crowd that the current President has long concealed a cocaine arrest. Could be they’ve nailed the wrong George W. Bush.
UPDATE. In other Bush news, check this pre-emptive strike from Howell Raines last year:
Does anyone in America doubt that Kerry has a higher IQ than Bush? I’m sure the candidates’ SATs and college transcripts would put Kerry far ahead.
The results are in, Howell.
UPDATE II. Guardian cartoonist Steve Bell holds fast to his Bush-is-monkey theme. Look at the way Bell depicts Bush’s hands; then examine Bell’s own hands. Have a banana, gorilla boy!
Does the other George W. Bush have a goatee? ‘Cuz that would seal it.
As for Raines:
“Such incompetence cannot go unpunished. Your Agonizer, Mr. Raines…”
“But…but… everybody knows Bush is an idiot and Kerry is a genius! Everybody! It was an honest mistake, sir!”
“[firmly] Your Agonizer, Mr. Raines.”
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTTTT!
“AAAAAAAAAARRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!”
So, we’ve got an arrogant, power-hungry politician trying to manipulate a bunch of talking-head politicians into hobbling the group of cowboys—oops, I mean Jedi—who are the only ones willing to confront evil with force? And said power-hungry politician is depicted as a bad, bad person?
Other than Palpatine being successful, seems like a good parallel to me, albeit not, perhaps, in quite the way Lucas intended.
Don’t focus on Bell’s hands, people. Look at his face. If he shaved his beard, he’d look like a naked gorilla.

A case of mistaken identity. Excellent!
Well, I’m sure we’ll hear no more about this particular rumor, now that it’s been completely disproven.
To everyone’s satisfaction.
With facts. And stuff.
OT Finally managed to see Star Wars; yeah, the allegedly political messages are distracting, and extremely hard to believe they weren’t deliberately, “cleverly” put there in a self-laudatory way. Of course, we all have heard about the “if you’re not with me…” line, so that one, when it came, I could hardly experience with an untainted mind.
But there were other lines, quite a few, where it struck me that it was just too coincidental that the wording applied oh-so-well to what the left thinks of W. Conviction by statistically unbelievable coincidence, in short.
Other than that… it’s good enough; not great, but good. And digital.
Perhaps the best thing about it is that there’s nothing terrible in it, or not much. No Jar Jar Binks, no snotty kid winning a motocross race…
