DOUBLE-STANDARDS WATCH
Andrew Sullivan found himself the target of left-wing unpleasantness a few years ago. Essentially, he was accused of being a slut and a hypocrite. Sullivan was understandably distraught over this. In response, he condemned his attackers for their “sexual McCarthyism”.
Michelle Malkin currently finds herself the target of left-wing unpleasantness. Essentially, she is accused of being a slut and a hypocrite. Malkin is not amused by this. You might expect Sullivan to empathise. Instead, he writes:
Michelle Malkin does not have a sense of humor.
Just laugh it off, Michelle. You know, exactly like Andy did(n’t).

Seriously, how long until the racial slurs against Malkin start coming from the left?

And of course he still carries a grudge against all those who supported Bush despite his stance on the FMA.
Tim’s right, this is absolutely devastating to Sullivan’s credibility. His big issue is legalizing gay marriage, and he was highly effective in neutralizing conservative opposition by arguing that such marriages will promote values conservatives find important – monogamy, reduced promiscuity, etc. When the Left publicized his highly promiscuous personal life he was not amused and made a big deal about personal privacy and “sexual McCarthyism.”
But when Michelle Malkin’s credibility is attacked with vile, racist sexual comments, and she is wrongfully accused of sexual hypocrisy, he dismisses her objections with, “Michelle Malkin does not have a sense of humor.” What a flaming hypocritical asshole.

I’ve got no problem with people changing their minds but Sullivan’s motivation is so obvious it is embarrassing to read him.
For all their posturing, in the end, the Left is really just all about elite self interest. Ross nails it. No matter what else is going on in the world, acts of terrorist depravity, etc, everything gets boiled down to Sullivan’s sexual preference.
Notice how fast they abondoned all of their “principles” to attack Malkin on grounds of “lookism”, “sexism” and “racism”. If anyone on the Right attempted to use these criteria for purposes of judgement or criticism, it would be Katie bar the door!

So fourteen years ago Ms Malkin looked good in a swimming costume, which now means that in 2006 she can’t comment on “raunch culture” and its impact on young girls. Say what?
1. People are allowed to change their mind.
2. The pornographication of culture as it relates to girls does not mean that women can’t express their sexuality.
3. I wish I looked that good in a bikini.So she may have worn a bikini once. Inside. Bloody hell, what a fuss over nothing.

Having used the word I ought to admit that I have no idea what MM’s ‘ethnicity’ is. I’m waiting for the Left to start physically lynching people. It seems they’ve picked up every other bad habit of the KKK, all that’s left is the lynching. They already attempt to emotionally lynch anyone who disagrees with them.
I disagree as to when Sully went leftward over the edge. It actually happened when he got a boyfriend. Andy “changed his mind” to keep domestic tranquility with his lefty lover.
As for Michelle, she can model a bikini for me anytime.
