DOG EAT BLOG WORLD

So Andrew Bolt thinks his readers own the finest dogs in all of blogdom, does he? Well, I believe that challenge has already been met. And met. And met. And met. And met. And met. And met. And met. And met. And met. And met. And met. And met.

UPDATE. Parading an unusually inert collection of strays, Richmond-supporting Dutchman Bolt accuses this site’s dogs of being “asleep on the job”. Here’s a spectacular loop-eared leaper for him, then:

UPDATE II. Beautiful dog insight from James Lileks: “No! This can’t be! You have the clever-paws! Use them! Bread is at stake!”

  1. Damn it.  I own the cutest evil dog from hell bulldog in existence.  Possibly the only cute bulldog to have existed.  And I can’t figure out how to post a photo.

    Damn you High Technology.

(I also own a miniature dachsund, very very adorable, and a mixed beagle-basset hound that I call a baggle.  Also cute but a bit evil).

  2. Wron, I don’t think you can post a photo direct from your hard drive, I think you have to link to Flicker or Snapfish or some outfit like that. I would love to post a photo of my late great Westie, Macduff.

  3. Is Bolt trying to get a dog fight going? Who does he think he is, Michael Vick?

  4. Well actually I own the cutest dog in the world. I know everyone says that about their dogs, but mine really is.  Choochie is a mini schnauzer without the schnauzer haircut which can make a very cute breed look very serious and old.

  5. #1 Wron, you can upload an image from your hard drive here. A URL of your dog pic will be created which you can then post.

  6. Alas, I can no longer participate in the Dog Wars.  I had many dogs in my long years, but they’ve all passed on to the Great Meadow in the Sky.  But I will say, the smartest dog I ever met was my Silkie, a Border Collie mix (possibly poodle, possibly corgi, possibly a combination of who knows).  She was so intelligent, we had many extended conversations (mostly in her language, in which I wasn’t fluent, but which she understood perfectly).  At any rate, she bossed the Boxers and the American Spitz she shared the house with at the time, even though the Boxers outweighed her by some 80 pounds apiece.  They all worshipped her, and followed her everywhere.  Of all my beloved dogs, I think I miss her the most.

  7. Wife has a pomeranian I wanted to name Pup Diddy but now he’s Gus. She walks him all the good looking women fawn. I walk and get divorced grandmothers and fat gay guys. I hate that dog.

  11. Ladies and gentlemen—and paco—I give you, the smartest dog ever.

How smart? So smart she pulled the sweat pants off a cheerleader after I told her to do it.

No, but I saw the movie. Mainly to laugh at Don Johnson.

  15. You people keep putting up dog threads while I’m sitting here missing my dogs, and I’m gonna start talking about my grandchildren.  Believe me, you don’t want that.

  16. #8 Peter, you can really tell they are descended from wolves.

They’ve come a ways haven’t they?  these two are surprisingly athletic though.  I saw them chase a fox three times around our large suburban yard once - before the fox managed to scramble over the fence,  They were actually faster than the fox - which had to resort to cunning fox tricks to stay clear.

  22. Incidentally there’s evidence that Sasquatch is somewhere near at hand in the snow, from last evening.

Corn seems to be the attraction.  The same footprints were across my porch this morning.

There’s more to Sasquatch than just the dollar coin they put out a few years ago, I think.
