DO NOT CRITICISE NANCY

Don Arthur offers a critical leftish view on Nancy Pelosi—for which he is condemned as a right-wing death beast. Interesting.

  1. Do not look directly at Happy Fun Speaker Pelosi.

Do not taunt Happy Fun Speaker Pelosi.

Happy Fun Speaker Pelosi contains a liquid core, which, if exposed due to rupture, should not be touched, inhaled, or looked at.

Discontinue use if Happy Fun Speaker Pelosi looks constantly surprised.

Happy Fun Speaker Pelosi may swing from no impeachment to impeachment at incredible speeds.

Children under 10, the elderly and pregnant women should not be exposed to Happy Fun Speaker Pelosi.

Criticizing Happy Fun Speaker Pelosi may result in flaming and/or reveal inability to please think of The Children™.

  2. Interesting piece, and lively comments. How typical that commenter DD claims to know nothing more about Pelosi after reading Don’s recitation of facts. Some folks’ natural helmets make them immune to the admonishment of the cluebat.

Of course. Lefties are simple-minded folk who live in a bi-polar world (in every sense of the term.) If you say something disagreeable to them, you must ipso facto be on the other side.

  4. Dave S.:  And that is particularly amusing in light of their constant and loud criticism of Bush’s “if you’re not with us, you are against us” belief, and his ability to actually distinguish black and white from shades of grey, and say so.

  5. I figure Pelosi is just another politico willing to do the expedient thing.  But when I look at her, all I can think of is bad plastic surgery.  Condi Rice at her glariest couldn’t top that drum-tight mug.

  6. We will all soon see.

Our Australian friends can get out the lawn chairs and popcorn for once to enjoy the show.

I think this next two years in WashingToonDC will piss off both the wingers and the moonbats.  Everyone will be faux-pandering to the middle with an eye on ‘08.  Giuliani, McCain, Clinton,...oh my.

It will be micro-politics as usual with the big stuff too dangerous to touch.

    Until we get hit again.

  7. Folks, I think the answer is fairly straightforward - we live in a post-logical age. Information and facts do not matter.  Emotion and feelings matter.  Superego is out.  Id is in.  And so the correct answer for anything that anyone does not want to believe is “Bullshit”.  Try it - you’ll be surprised how well it works.  You too can love Big Brother. (*)

Just remember - the bell tolls for thee.

    (*) . . .  bullshit

Well, it makes sense, doesn’t it? When you can see “the other side” every way you look, it’s because you’re the center of everything. No wonder that kind of outlook is appealing to lefties.

Given that they tend to be self-centered, I’d say that you hit the nail on the head, PW.

  12. the lawn chairs and popcorn

    Slight cultural correction needed, trainer.
In Oz it’s more ‘patio chairs, crisps and Tim Tams’.
Popcorn is still mainly a cinema affectation borrowed from you, and chairs on the lawn usually need a large shade cloth -it’s pretty hot here in Summer even near our coasts.

Accurate point, though.  Is Pelosi a few French fries short of a Happy Meal?

  13. ‘patio chairs, crisps and Tim Tams’

I will remember that for the next time we do something everlastingly stupid for your amusement.

Pelosi has a brilliant political mind, the ability to raise tons of money, and the ethics of a sand flea.  She’s a natural for places like Chicago and New Jersey, but landed in San Francisco.  She’s Speaker because she’s been able to last longer than any of her rivals in Washingtoon...that should tell you something.  Think Attila the Hen.

What we are wondering is if her political mind is thinking about ‘08 which will require moderation, or if moonbattery will set in.

That will last precisely as long it takes the kids today to inherit the bill for the boomers’ self-indulgence.  Assuming we survive that long, there will be an enormous backlash against that whole sordid generation…

  16. Kinda off topic, but check out this snapshot I took of a car in Oakleigh, Melbourne with a “Hillary 2008” bumper sticker.

    Link

I laughed to myself after I took the photo - the driver decided to turned left.

Wish I had a proper camera instead of using my mobile.

This is the way it’s always been here in Korea, and, trust me, it ain’t pretty.

Richard: As a guy born in 1963, it pisses me off to no end when I see some schmuck identify the baby boomers as going up to 1964. DO NOT LUMP ME IN WITH THAT GENERATION. OK, I feel better now.

  21. #17 Tommy Shanks.  Interesting observation about Korea that might explain their flakiness.  Once heard them described as the Italians of the East, which says a lot too.
Actually I date the Superego Slump from about 1958 when Elvis took over pop.
I recall getting blank stares when I asked what he was singing about -it didn’t MATTER, so he had a whole career of emotive pap, redeemed only by the Beatles in 64..

In the consumer world it’s only a small step to thinking Nothing matters but feelings.
I’ve had my fingers crossed for 40 years, and here comes a Dhimmicrat Congress.. ....

  22. #19, paco:

The DNC, as a party, exists off of old school corruption, financial shenanigans and political theft. They are immune to an issues involving ethics. Hell, the DNC wont even leave the dead alone when it comes time to stuff ballot boxes.

The only difference between the DNC today and the old “Tammany Hall” days or “the Chicago Machine” of Daley is real time communications and established disbursal systems for the graft and kickbacks at a national level.

  23. #18 I empathise completely.  I also notice that it is usually baby boomers or their Gen Y offspring that make that mistake.  My parents were toddlers during WW2, so how could they produce a baby boomer?
