DISSENT CRUSHED

Greg Palast continues his anti-Galloway campaign:

This is difficult road. I’m obviously taking a lot of heat from some misguided Leftists regarding my expose of Galloway. And it is true that some progressive news outlets have blacklisted me. But thankfully, they are few and tiny. It turns out that one radio host who decided to block my broadcasts because “Palast is a Zionist” was himself removed from the Pacifica Radio Network stations for his Stalinist love of censorship. I am now banned from his tiny show and it matters not.

It is a great irony that my investigations of Galloway began in 2003 when I DEFENDED him on Channel 4 television. I sought additional material from Galloway and other sources to bolster that defense and to my surprise, found more that damned him than supported him. As a journalist, I could not bury the findings.

James Wolcott can help you with that, Greg.

  2. Good on him. Palast can recognise a genuine, devout, practising national socialist when he sees one.

  3. Sorry to go off-topic so early, but Channel Seven is showing “Flight 93: The Flight that Fought Back”.

Should be mandatory viewing for everyone who doesn’t quite ‘get it’ about Islamic terrorism.

  4. Dear me, MarkL, did you just reach the limits of Godwin’s Law in just two posts?

If so, we are discussing George Galloway—a fascist if there ever was one.  So you’re forgiven!

As an observer of current affairs i could not help but be touched by this simple faith in the better nature of journalists.

  7. o/t so far as I could observe aunty did not again mention the beheading of the three christian schoolgirls in Indonesia. They pulled that stunt of burying it on the late news the night before (Two sentences) and then NOT putting it on the main bulletin that every abc viewer watches,on the following evening-tonight.Forgive me if I am wrong but that is a favourite tactic of theirs.
Sorry kids you’re not worth mentioning.Too bad.

  8. #7 It’s because there’s no way they can blame it on Indonesian involvement in Iraq or Indonesian support for Israel.

I mean surely there’s no other reason a Muslim would behead a Christian schoolgirl. We have to understand the “root causes”. That’s what the ABC is trying to help us do. People like you just don’t “get it”...

  10. yep that islamic history of europe was an eye-opener. those kindly muslims invaded spain & gave europe peace & tolerance & learning.  tsk tsk the bad christians came & slaughtered heaps of muslims & drove these delightful people out. we should all get back to the peace & tolerance of the muslim reign in spain.  uh huh

  14. My first experience with Palast’s writing was an article he wrote implying California Republicans were in cahoots with Enron when Enron held several meetings with locals regarding community and energy.

Palast, to his credit, linked to the Enron invitation list, which in fact debunked his claims of a Republican cabal meeting with Enron officials. Those invited included Magic Johnson, former NBA player and owner of a chain of inner-city California theaters, the president of a California University, and a Democrat mayor.

After that, I don’t trust a thing he writes, regardless of who he is attacking.

  17. #10 KK, did you notice the deathly silemce that fell when the presenter asked the photojourno about al-andalusia? Presenter says it seemed to be all about tolerance and living in peace, photojourno’s response? “If you ask an islamist about andalusia then it’s about losing the war.” :) (my words, but the meaning is the same). That spiked the presenter’s guns, and he had no answer for that. And rather than follow that interesting pathway, he headed back to the safe old drivel about how much we owe to the muslims.

Yeah, yeah. That was then, this is now. We’ve more than repaid the debt with polio vaccine alone, I reckon.
