CLAIM IN MAINE REMAINS THE SAME

Serial plastic turkey enthusiast Mary Potratz (mmm ... pot rats) repeats a familiar claim:

It didn’t impress us before when he held up a plastic turkey, it doesn’t impress us now.

The Central Maine Morning Sentinel’s headline on Mary’s letter: “Voters not falling for Bush photo ops nowadays.” But Democrat voters evidently are. More from Mary:

Pulling 360’s in a dune buggy over the sands of Arizona is insulting to us all.

Why? Is the dune buggy plastic, too? Roll on August 30, and the Feast of 1000 Days!

  1. "Pulling 360’s in a dune buggy over the sands of Arizona is insulting to us all.”

Because we certainly don’t want to disdturb the frikkin’ gila monsters!  Oh, no, that won’t do at all.

  4. Multiple Choice (one correct answer):What insults Potratz? (a) being called a western degenerate slut by Islamists (b) knowing that she is less witty than Ann Coulter (c) being told that she can’t tell the difference between plastic and flesh (d)pulling 360’s over sand dunes (e) female circumcision among Arabs and Africans (e) suicide bombers killing women and children.

  6. Gee Mary. According to the 9/11 Commission Report

Among the travelers were Mohamed Atta and Abdul Aziz al Omari, who arrived at the airport in Portland, Maine.

It would seem that the airport in Portland Maine, had “plastic” personnel on duty 9/11/01, too.

Mary? Maybe your airport people were… Pulling 360’s in a dune buggy over the sands of Arizona , that day, huh?

  7. I wonder if Mary wrote a similar snear when Kerry was busy running into the secret service in the snow, or wind surfing, or biking in those thoroughly insulting bike pants, or trying to catch a football?  What she impressed then, doya think?

  9. Best part are the comments in the plastic dune buggy link.  My personal favorite:
“And where’s the picture of him serving a tray full of plastic tacos to the appreciative “troops?"”
You can just see him spending hours in his mom’s basement trying to decide where to put the scare quotes.  Tacos?  Nope.  TO? Nope.  Picture?  Nope.  Oh the hell with it, throw them on the last word.  And I think he was the “smart” one.

  10. Since the Border Patrol agent was driving, technically wouldn’t it be he who was “pulling the 360s”?  So, then, technically it would be the Border Patrol agent who’s being “insulting”, right?  What with the plastic turkey that wasn’t, and the 360s by somebody else, I think Ms. PotRats has a perception problem, doncha think?

  11. Mary Pot-O-Ratz asks who controls Mexico’s oil? Not sure what she’s getting at, but in case she’s just curious, it’s Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), the Mexican state-owned oil monopoly (which, incidentally, has been looted by greedy Mexican politicians to the tune of billions of dollars).

I’m not sure why she finds doing a 360 in a dune buggy offensive. Perhaps, like most leftists, she prefers the 180 (or “turn and flee” maneuver).

  13. Good grief, calling an Unlimited-class Baja-1000 capable military-spec sand-rail with 30-inch suspension a “dune buggy” is downright short-bus.  That’s a SCORE or Best-In-The-Desert competent race-vehicle.  Those bad-boys can cross the desert, rocks, whoops, gulleys and all at 80mph plus while the driver sits rock steady and the machine-gunner picks-up and eliminates targets downrange with a .50 bmg - they’re a lot more than just Barbie’s “dune buggy.” And there are a bunch at work in Afgthanistan piloted by Special Forces.  Get the movie “Dust to Glory" and see just what they’re capable of, driven by maniacs.

  16. OT but there is something very wrong with the front page of the Herald Sun today.

HEROIN addicts and dealers will be banned from nine Melbourne suburbs in a radical crackdown on the drug trade.

They will risk jail if they break court orders banning them from drug-plagued Footscray and surrounding suburbs.

Call me old fashioned - but isn’t dealing drugs and taking heroin already illegal, especially dealing. I would have thought any one caught dealing would be arrested, charged and front court. Am I missing something?

Yes, you are missing the irrationality of their thought. And thank god for that, for rational people, will eventually win. I hope.

  24. How about a plastic Gough Whitlam? You can use him for photo ops, or to convince your elderly grandmother, who happens to be in the ALP, that it’s really Gough. For the next election we could have plastic Mark Latham badges. When an ALP pollster offers you a how to vote card, shove the badge in their face. Then with a hissing and spitting noise they would flee faster than Kim Beazley from the dieting section of the local bookstore. Or a plastic John Howard face mask, wear it to that next ACTU rally and see how long you live.
